Not sure if its just me but the Filters in the Option menu never has worked for me. I always thought this filtered a lot of combat text server side because it was a must for raiding in Original EQ.

Yea filters should be working. But either way, they shouldn’t cause lag and if they do we need to fix it :)

I'm not sure now the game is coded but having those filters work made a huge difference on live.

So next round of changes are staged.

What I did is disable “most” combat text in Plane of Tactics. The idea here is to set up a standard testing environment to really weed down to where the problem is at.

Aiming for reboot tonight.

Please test out PoTactic stuff and report back when able. I disabled all chat messages (client related) in the zone. So hopefully it cuts down on all the excess stuff being pushed out by the server.

Not designed to be "the fix" but more so just a starting point to help narrow down what is causing the desyncs

Other change that I made this morning (just reviewing server data/usage). I moved the NPC limit check from a global script to actually being part of the source code. Instead of running in the background every 3 seconds, it will now only check when you actually aggro something. If you are > 15 NPCs on the hatelist, it will let you know. If you are >35, it will port you back to The Hidden Forest.

The excluded zones from this are (scripting reasons)
Dreadspire Keep
Halls of Honor
Vex Thal

Right now the aggro limit script is disabled until the next server reboot when the updated code goes in.

Went in there to check it out for you. I don't consider my group a high player count raid though :P I normally play 6, but I brought 10 in there. There was absolutely no llag or desync issues, and I was pulling entire rooms in VZ/TZ. The main zone also doesn't appear to be lagging.

I tried to cast / engage all the toons as much as I could. Couldn't find a way to lag, but like I said it might be different for someone with 24 characters vs. the 10 available to me.

Not sure if it matters, but I brought the following: 1 bard, 2 necros, 1 magician, 1 druid, 1 shaman, 1 cleric, 1 warrior, 1 enchanter, 1 shadowknight.

Also not sure if it matters, but I had all the following going on (in attempts to optimize activity happening with just 10 characters):
I had bard singing / attacking the whole time. I had the enchanter casting debuffs. I had the shaman, druid, and cleric healing. All characters had a pet (Draekon pets, plus necro/magician bp pets). I had all available buffs from all classes active (including the shaman's gladiator and spirit of lion) as well as enchanter godly rune buffs. Shadownight was casting Death March on everyone. Warrior was spamming flurry and using Hurricane Strike when off cooldown (both the disc and the warrior class belt).

Tried my best to lag, could not. Can't vouch for someone with twice as many toons doing all the above as well.

Great! Good news to hear. I have been working through the filters and highlighting bunch of issues where they were leaking through the on/off toggle also. So hoping with a mix of things we can narrow down the issues and get things fixed up.

Also, in case it wasn't intended, but hailing the healing bots gives no response in PoTactics. I assume this just went as part of the tweaking but just mentioning it in case it slips through :)

Yeah I would fathom 99% of all messages are being blocked in the zone right now. Everything is still functional, you just won’t see the responses/text
