As a person who suffered from chronic gastritis (swelling of the stomach lining), and a hiatal hernia (
look it up), I have sworn off all "temporary" relievers of stomach related pain/discomfort. Reason being is that they only provide relief, but don't fix anything.
If you've got constant acid reflux pain, I highly recommend seeing a doctor. They'll of course give you a list of things to avoid (like binge drinking) but can also provide you a with a solution that is actually really simple, cheap and straightforward.
Of course, I had corrective surgery a year and a half ago to fix my situation, but a simple prescription of a proton pump inhibitor (like omeprazole) would have helped relieve most of my symptoms. In my case, I'd have to take a pill every day for the rest of my life, which is why I chose the surgery option, but for some, a 3-month dosage can fix you for a very long time.
