Noob attempting Emperor Ssraeshza - SSRA

I'm still loving the server and am finally getting to content that was new to me when I quit EQ live. Nostalgia

Anyway my brother and I are running a single group (each currently 3 boxing) and are now in the emp chambers. We attempted it the other night but failed. I'm not one to enjoy figuring out strats but rather following already laid out strats and moving forward (no time for figuring stuff out). What is the best way to go about this fight?

Group consists of War, mage (t8 pet), wizard, rogue, shaman, cleric.
They have all about 180AA. We have 3 of the 4 solo auras (currently working on the caster type one). The war is fully decked out in Kael armor and some upgraded pieces. We're currently working on getting the war a healing automation.

Our strategy was to kill the 6 or whatever snakes and kill the blood. After the blood died we finished the snakes and were healing/medding up. To our surprise the 6 snakes popped back up so we thought we would attempt to tank all 6 snakes and the emp. It worked ok but if the war lost agro at all things got sloppy. Also 6 snakes + emp hitting the war was pretty hard to heal through and the cleric eventually went oom and the war died. The shaman was aoe slowing, spot healing, and dropping dots on the emp. The shaman also has the donor weapon so the group has wota.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, you cannot CoH once you are in the Emp room, so you might want to keep a CoH toon parked outside, near the portal.

Once you get your party into the Emp room, you will need to kill Blood of Ssraeshza before you engage the Emperor. There are many adds in the room with a 1 minute respawn, so an offtank with AE taunt will definately be helpful here. Once Blood is down, have MT pull Emperor Ssra to a corner and dps him down while the offtank keeps the trash busy. Emp Ssra procs a curse that removes agro and you may find it hard to keep agro on your tank. Once Emp Ssra is killed, hail the fairy and advance to T2.

So you're telling me I should swap in a SK in place of the Wizard (or whatever) and handle the adds that way?

I've seen mention of people soloing through this. How in the world is that possible?!

It is easier when you have better than Kael armor. AE taunt is key if you only have a single tank. With t8 mage and rogue, i dont see a lack of dps. Perhaps work on upgrading your Kael armor in Shadowhaven too.

You can also ask for help.

I'm sure that there will be some T8 tank (including mine) that could offtank the 6 serpents while you're doing Ssra.

Otherwise, buy "Defender's Guard Rk. I", "Enraged Scowl Rk. I", "Hurricane Swipe Rk. I" in the bazaar or ask a warrior in HoH to buy it for you and you will have less trouble to handle the fight
And if you have enough money, add some spells for you mage, wizard and shaman

Don't forget to add augments on your armor, more AC / HP on your warrior never hurt

ReMove greater curse will help with the aggro issues, and +1 to asking for help its a public zone and emp ssra is pretty hard for a at geared single group

If you can handle shadow haven there is very nice weapons with Shissar dmg and nice accesories too

I'll take off the GM hat for a moment and draw on my player experience. I'm surprised no one touched on this:

There are places on the far wall where the throne is where the Emperor can be fought without aggroing the adds when they (quickly) respawn. That's how I always did it.

Control adds, bring them all to low health. Kill them all within 15 seconds of one another so that you have 45 seconds to aggro and position Emp in a safe spot.

Best way to deal with the adds is to not fight them if you don't have to

Those T8 warrior discs would be very nice. I'll check to see if he has them and if not pick the up. I think we're currently using stone wall or something like that.

Going to echo what somebody else said....don't be shy to ask for help. Emp is a brutal encounter on tier. Once past him, you guys will likely sail past the next few tiers with little difficulty.

...And keep your healers in the nook on the left wall (if you are facing the throne.)

I remember the first time we did Emp. It took us 2 groups and we wiped a few times before we killed him. Good luck!
