About the server update.

Posting this because some people clearly doesn't get what's going on..

We are working hard on getting up to date with latest eqemu revision. Todays update was the 1st and biggest step in this direction. It's a pretty complex update, since we have countless custom code aswell. Basically a minor code update left. Todays update happened 2 hours before.. so yeah, not everything fixed yet.

- we WILL fix bugs
- we WILL balance out any issues caused by the update
- and we'll do it asap

Starting drama, treating us that 50% of the server population will leave if we wont revert, calling the recent changes "nerf" or "slap in the face", thinking that GMs are evil who want to hurt players (no joke, some players think alike), stuff like that wont help. Please be patient and if you want to help speed this process up, post objective bug reports.

Thank you <3

p.s: we'll do some double exp as soon as things are worked out.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work to the server staff!

Debugging a code base and doing releases is always extremely difficult and time consuming and often times downright frustrating (I've been through the release/oh crap/debug/patch process enough to sympathize!). Would it be useful for the development team if some people went over to the test server to help debug during the transition period?

Lol...I have trouble keeping my minecraft server up to date with... other people's patches. This is a minor setback. I look forward to running on an up-to-date server, and I'm sure that the development team, more than ALL of us, want their content to be congruent with the mechanics..

I'm sure any percentage of the population that "quits" right now, hasn't been here very long, or knows nothing about the time that has gone into and will continue to go into a project like this.

edit: grammar and wording =x again.

THF is one of the very few if only server that really listens to its population and takes feedback from them to make the server better. Alot of this could have been prevented if people hopped on the test server from time to time, Hey Im just as guilty on that one. I for one am sorry for any of the crying I may have done in ooc, thats just the initial knee jerk reaction. I know the dev team is doing what they can to fix/balance any of the ton of issues that have popped up. Keep up the great work THF team.

as a software developer, I can speak to how difficult integrating trunk changes into your branch can be, and how bizaare unexpected errors can crop up.

as a question, the update notices mention better support for the sod client... does that mean we got Character:SoDClientUseSoDHPManaEnd enabled?!

Thanks for the kind words guys, really appreciate it! <3

SoDClientUseSoDHPManaEnd is turned of atm to treat all client equally. (it would be only extra 1K hp or so anyways). Better support for SoD client means several SoD client related fixes plus patched SoD client support.

with the stats I've seen at even 'casual' lvl 70 gear, 1k isn't that big of a deal.

sod\uf client is easier to get legally, is more stable, etc anyway...

not really arguing, just putting that out there.
