Question for all the older players.

I can see that people enjoy it here. I do also. But is there something specific about this server as you progress within it?

My question to you is simply:
Is there a spot you would recommend to folks to not miss on their first trip leveling a character into the realm? Some 'must see' area that, if you were showing someone the server for the first time, would make sure to include in the experience?

Many thanks to any who reply with insight and wisdom.

Oh yeah, and no: I don't usually talk in character. But I was drunk, so here's my drunk try. Hello everyone! Thank you Lillu for organizing all of this. I find your server to be fun. And most of the people here are fun to interact with. I love the level of GM interaction with all the players. Bravo everyone on a fine server. At least what I have seen so far has been a good fun trip.

my advice would be to do the progression the way it's designed and not skipp any contents.

I do create some alts , powerlevel them to 70 and do a VP run to gear them up. I always end up bored.

Just take your time , do your headhunter quest , epics etc and try to find a guild whos at your progression stage

I started on the server over a year ago, and only recently got flagged for T7.

I've spent my time mainly boxing the content. Loving all the content the developers have put into the game.

It's definately worth taking your time, enjoying the content and not worrying about levels/gear.

As for a 'must see' zone, it's just best to use the progression fairys in the forest, try every zone, and see all the custom drops. The real fun zones started for me at T1-T6 (SSRA, TOV, ST, FIRE, AIR, VP, FEAR). Do some side quests (Charm, Headhunter, Epic, WOS Pets etc).

The first time you try the Emperor Ssra encounter, if your all geared for the zone (Not somebodys over-geared T7 tank) you'll really enjoy the evil nature of what to expect from Raid Tier boss's. For me, the end game evil genius of the encounters is awesome. None of them are just tank & spank if your geared at the level of the encounter.

The raid tier mobs hit like trucks, have some crazy AE, have adds spawning during the fight, Knockback, Certain trigger words to keep you busy mid fight, and most of them require a modocum of thinking (At least until your over-geared for them and simply zerg them) to ensure that your raid dosent wipe. And if you check the forums, most people are calling T7 (DSP) pure evil madness, and Vaion(?) should be locked up for his own protection. But even this zone has been completed. And with T8 around the corner, i'm sure that the server will have plenty to keep you entertained at your own pace.

Whether you box, group or raid, i'm fairly sure that if you take your time and enjoy the content you'll have a wonderful time. If you really like the server you can allways donate and get some real nice toys for your character. Even if you don't donate, you can still enjoy all the content, as donor gear isnt 'game breaking'.

Unforunately the content up through t6 is pretty straightfoward and boring - fun if you got a good group of people to play with, but i have to say based our experience in DS, ask any member of Shattered and they will say that it was one of the best end game experiences any of us have had in any game to date. Vaion has taken the endgame here and perfected it. yes you will want to shoot yourself, and follow that up with sending threatening, hate filled PMs to Vaion (i know from experience <3) but overall its the best mix of risk/challenge vs reward anywhere. T8 is only getting better, from preliminary testing, helping him work out some bugs and kinks, Shattered is prepared to be bashing its head against the wall time and time again in there - from our experience its going to be 10x harder than DS, more movement, less box friendly (and stop me if im giving alot away vaion) but overall i cant f**King wait!

This is an amazing server and after over a year here, starting from scratch and working my way to the top of the ladder, every kill, every fight, it was all a blast.

As far as the First experience through goes, i found a great group of people early on back in Mofish, and we progressed through Kael to PoAir before things started to fall apart. But it was one of the most fun times ive had in an MMO in a long time. The Server was very different back then, but still alot of fun.

My reccomendation - if your new and lookign to start grinding your way through THF. Hit every custom zone, it will slow you down a bit, but one of the more understated parts of this server is the great custom content they have for people leveling. Its not ALL about the end game here. Enjoy the grind, run around to some old zones from live. Like Firenze said, dont skip it your first 1 or 2 times through. Hit it all! Start making friends in OOC, on the forums, and your experience will only get better!

Welcome to THF!
