Pet owners and pet power focus effects

I want opinions about this bugfix:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2933&start=0

About the fix:
- server was giving exact multipliers to any focus value - so 25 and 30 was all the like 1, but still better then zero. well this is over
- now every point counts - focused majorly to melee stats

Details: (power will mean the max focus effect - like 30 on those sandals in other thread)
- max health is now increased by same percent like power - so sandal will give +30% HP
- armor class is increased by the percent of half power - so in example it is +15% AC
- for every ten points in power you get a level for the pet - sandal +3 level
- for fun the size is increasing by power divided by 10 - sandal +3 size (if you get angry that pet is standing on loot and too big to just move it, always remember: size DOES matter)
- damage will be increased too by percent of power divided by 10. - sandal gives +3%

So you can select more then one in this poll; make good opinions, because noone would like to nerf if it comes to pets seeming to be too strong. If you say underpowered or overpowered, then go ahead and suggest new values.

And no flames - unless you are mage..

Oh and btw - this goes for every pet owner..

Poll will close in a day then fix will go live with your suggestions read.

I voted that it's missing some stats. Would it be possible to have increased regen on pets with increased pet power? More HP is great and all, but it also means we need to spend more chunks of mana on heals if regen isnt increased =p

Also, I disagree with the size increase. Epic pets are already HUGE lol. I always shrink my pet tbh, and find other mage pets annoying when they're not shrunk just because im so small (gnome) and theyre so enormous.

Lastly I'm a little concerned about the minor dps increase compared to everything else. 3% doesn't seem like too much, but of course you don't want to over do it either. What about 3% per 10 pet power, instead of 1%? Weapons scale drastically on this server, and I don't think pets will keep up with only a 1% increase per 10 pet power.

Other than that it looks good and I'm happy you're fixing this Zeik. Thanks!

Edit: In regards to replenish minion aa. It's seriously lacking in healing power! Please help!

ninja changed - need new spellfile, even if you already downloaded todays!

Now heals for 15k instead of 3k.

My bagged boots finally get a use, ain't gonna complain.

But seriously, the size... Pet being twice taller than me (and I'm not a gnome...) is more a pain than anything usefull. Takes FIVE shrinks to minimize the 2.0 :?

Ok, tested my new pet out. His hp is more and AC also. I did notice though that his highest crits are lower than they used to be before the fix. With that said, I parsed him for awhile without using ToV Mage Robe effect and his dps was higher than it was before. However I parsed him alongside myself as I did yesterday for 6min so I could use the robe effect 2x. The pet's dps was actually just a little lower due to his hardest hits being lower than before.

I'll post actual numbers in a few minutes to back up what I'm talking about lol

Round One!

Pet with Sune buffs, Elemental Fury and Circle of Fireskin. Using ToV pet toys.

Vlad on 6/8/2010 in 614sec

Jonartik
--- DMG: 884429 (91.11%) @ 1440 dps (1440 sdps)

_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_

Round Two!

Pet with Sune buffs, Elemental Fury and Circle of Fireskin. Using ToV pet toys. This time I used Thaumaturgist's Infusion 2x during the parse and Frenzied Burnout 1x.

Vlad on 6/8/2010 in 358sec

Jonartik
--- DMG: 538136 (90.18%) @ 1503 dps (1503 sdps)

This is the parse I did yesterday before the fix went live.

Vlad on 6/7/2010 in 363sec

Total
--- DMG: 1346499 (100%) @ 3709 dps (3709 sdps)

Zalux
--- DMG: 764164 (56.75%) @ 2105 dps (2105 sdps)

Genantik
--- DMG: 582335 (43.25%) @ 1613 dps (1604 sdps)

As you can see pet dps actually went DOWN due to the pet not hitting as hard as he did yesterday.

That's not good >< I guess the old focus effect gave a higher dps increase even with it only increasing power by 1?

Not sure what is happening exactly. The attack and stats seem to be the same as before. Only things increased were AC and HP, which is VERY nice to see :) The dps is only slightly lower and even at that it's only lower when effected by that one burst dps buff because of the hits not landing quite as hard on the top end.

Edit: Level is also higher. This could be a real advantage when the pet is attacking things that are over 70.

In a raid setting, I'd trade a slight DPS hit for a TON more HP & AC (plus higher pet level). But, that's just me :-)
