You can already get Kael armor with mold+mats in Icewell, you just have to get either smithing or tailoring high enough to do the combines with some degree of success. IMO making it like the newbie items would make it ridiculously easy. I was able to duo Icewell as a fresh 70 and I managed to get a complete set minus legs/BP in a 2 days. This includes getting smithing up high enough for the combines. Once I had that armor I was able to take out the named and get legs/BP. Farming a full set for my cleric bot, rogue bot, and alt cleric took no time at all once I had a set for myself.khaliss wrote:Make Kael Armor acquisition similar to how you are able to get newbie armor, where it would drop molds and plate/rings/leather/cloth mats, then player buys class tokens (say, 500pp each). The armor drops are too random and it can get really frustrating for such high hp, hard hitting mobs. XP isn't that good, but if the way to get armor is changed this way, then perhaps it'll be a little worth it.
Depends on far too many factors for me. The AA you get farming the waters is huge due to the very fast rate of killing. I leveled up several of my group from 58-70 and tons and tons and tons of AA getting 4-5 characters to full Kael.moordian wrote:I would recommend everyone gear up in Kael. Save yourself the tradeskill agony. Just think of the AA you'll get farming a full suit there. You can probably get a lot of the Giant Slayer quest knocked out too. Definitely don't do Icewell.
This is not the zone you're looking for.
Move along, move along.
You make excellent point if you are trying to convince me, but I was kidding. I posted that because at the time I was farming the crap out of Icewell and I didn't want to share the zone. Since I added my cleric alt I can use my rogue bot and clear the entire castle in 2-3 pulls including the 2nd and 3rd floor named. This doesn't leave much for anyone else so I don't do this unless I am alone in the zone or the other group is small enough to combine in to one group.Ydiss wrote:moordian wrote:Lots of good points.
