ETA on Additional Alt-Prog Content.

Having bested all named, and crafted all items currently offered. I'm thirsting for more to do in Alt-Prog Land (is that trademarked as a theme park yet?).

I do understand the amount of time that goes into custom content and itemization, quests, etc etc etc.

Any update on testing and progress of Stonebrunt and beyond would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Basically I am the one responsible for the base work for Alt-P line. Of course, my work would never be complete without a lot of help and testing from entire THF team, but at this moment they all waiting on my to complete my part.
Unfortunately I have been distracted with number of RL issues in the past month, which prevents me from completing the current stage, and may still be preventing me for some more time.
However I must say that a good chunk of work for the next Alt-P zone has already been created, and once I can get back to it full, time it won't be long before the zone goes life. I can't give any exact time frame at the moment, but I will try to keep you guys updated, once the progress bar starts moving again ;)
But worry not- this project will NOT be abandoned, and it will be completed.

For the time being I can say that, the next tier of Alt-P will feature a 2 zone combo - Stonebrunt Mountains, and Mines of Gloom Deep which will be interconnected with a quest based progression and a story line. I dare to say it will have twice as much content as the Warrens do. In the new zone players will be caught in the middle of a struggle between Snowfang Clan of Kobolds (remember that quest from the warrens?) and Tribe of Kejek, and will have to choose which side they want to aid in this conflict. Heretic forces of Paineel will also make an appearance, as well as some other new villains.

There again will be an opening contest once the new tier goes live, with winners being awarded special titles and unique one time rewards.
The new tier covers levels from 20 to 40, and difficulty assumes that your character has been fully geared in Warrens. So if you want to participate in the contest - you better have your character ready 8-)

And hopefully all of this will happen soon ;)

A little update #2

I have completed creating most of the items that will be used in this tier of Alt-P.
This includes all kinds of gear, quest drops, crafting sub components and so on. Overall 300+ new items had to be created.

Spawning of StoneBrunt is almost complete: about 5% of zone still needs to be set up, and quest npcs added.

Spawning of GloomDeep have started, but should not take long, as it relatively small zone.

After that, loot tables will have to be set up, the quest scripts written, and finally trade skill combines put in. And then we will be done =P

OK, so far everything sounds awesome. But as I was working on another alt-p alt, it occurred to me that working tradeskills
for the various quests, I didn't see any for baking or brewing. Any chance that you are including those in any of the
new quest lines??

And like I said earlier, everything sounds so awesome, I can't wait til it all goes live and I lose what little is left of my marbles!!!
I need a scorecard to keep track of all of my alts!!
Kymarrah/ Mierrie/ Cialla/ Dhaani/ Bellabee
and so very many more....

to be honest I don't see brewing/baking appearing - i don't want to do them just for a sake of having a "baking quest", and
honestly on EQ1 player made food/drinks have very little utility usage (and specially on custom server).
Even stat food is on a border of pointless.
If we would have eq2 eat/drink system, where you get bonus from stat food AFTER you eat it (including much faster hp/mana recovery when resting) - it would make sense. However on eq1 (on LIVE) people would normally buy ONE piece of a stat food, and 200 junk food, then they would force feed themselves with junk food, and keep stat food in top slot for stats, essentially totally killing any purpose of ever needing MORE stat food. (I did this myself =P)
Surprisingly SOE never implemented much smarter EQ2 way to eq1 even years later.

To give brewing any purpose at all, ideally i would combine baking, brewing AND Alchemy into a single skill, so its primary purpose would be making potions, and food would come as a side thing. This would work for a brand new server set up from the scratch, but for THF this is prabobly won't matter at all.

RE: ETA - spawning of gloom deep is almost done, I am moving onto sorting out named loot, and next final (but largest) step is setting out quests.

Yeah, I see your point there, and I have to agree with ya.
Besides, I still have plenty to do, tradeskill-wise, to keep me busy until the new stuff comes live.
To verify, before I go committing wholesale slaughter (yet again) throughout the Warrens, is the type 2 Augment from
Wizard Pollina'd quest LORE or can we have two of them?? I loves mana regen, ya see.

the lore tag from those augs has been removed ;)

for next tier I planing a bit more versatile type 2 effect aug approach, where non of of the augs are lore, but they are limited in terms which slot you can put them to.
