Although I haven't tried a hard ldon lately, the last time I tried I got smacked down pretty easily. I'll have to give it another go just to see how the difficulty is. But from what I have read, it's nowhere near as time effective as easymode.

I just finished grinding out 1500 points for mainhand weapons for all of my melees, and I'm at the point where I never want to see another miragul collect ldon again even though with my group I could knock them out fairly quickly. How some people have the patience for 200-400+ wins I'll never know!

When I was doing normal Miraguls collection LDoN I can solo (+bot) in less than 10 minutes. That was in full ToV gear and 200 AAs.

LDoN hard collect (the orc instance), I was there for over an hour with a full group and still wasn't able to complete it (it only dropped like 8 collection items).

It seems Miraguls has a guaranteed quest drop every kill. But in that one LDoN hard I tried, only one would drop every 5-7 kills (mobs also have much more HP, and hit harder than ToV trash).

In this example, ldon hard vs. normal is way off balanced.

I tried a collection run today (first time Ive been there in awhile) and found that I cant seem to find the last two drops required.

I got the first 18 from the first mobs at zone in (as always happens), but after that, nothing.

Ive now been in the zone over an hour bored off my ass, but determined to get the last two. Worth 25 points? Hell no, last collection (possibly LDON) Ill ever run, most boring thing Ive ever done :D

Not sure if anythings been changed, but way collection is currently determing drops isnt right. (goes from 99.9% chance to 0 % chance to drop)

Thanks for your feedback Kuldiin. I wish that ppl who actually did 500+ Ldon runs would post about their (possibly positive?) opinion isntead of the constant negatve feedback.

Only reason I posted was because I noticed something which doesnt seem right, and posted my observation so it could be looked into (whenever time permits)

The way that collection currently works is that the collection item only drops during a collection quest. We've added in a custom modifier to allow a little more of a safety net. For example, say that you need to collect 20 items. With a 1.5 modifier, 20*1.5, or 30, items should be available for loot drop. We did this to account for potential oversights/bugs and simply to make it a tad more reasonable.

That said, as mentioned, there is certainly potential that a collection quest could mess up and less than the required amount of items drop. If this is the case, then it is a bug, and I'll look into it.

I plan on reviewing LDON in the very near future and revising how things are handled. Loot should be dispersed more evenly (instead of the front mobs dropping all of the collects only!). When this was initially added, I took on some work that prevented me from being able to contribute to thf at the time. I'm eager to review LDON and knock out all of the bugs, but part of the lack of updates was simply due to being unavailable. We will start working fixes and testing content as soon as possible.

I am glad that the collection thing with only 18 dropping was not just me. searched for 45 mins and could not find any other mobs or drops. Dropped a bunch of augs but not the last 2 collections. That was the pure ice collection adventure fyi

I dont know how it works, but its the way they are distributed that seems perculiar.

From the first twenty or so mobs, you can get 18/19 of the items you need. As you go deeper into the dungeon the mobs further in then stop dropping the collection item.

Its almost as though the mobs in the front of the dungeon spawn first and get given the collection item, so that is why the mobs deeper in the dungeon are all empty as the total you mentioned has already been reached.
