Character creation advice requested

Could use some advice for 2 boxing + bots. New to server and am excited to see what this server offers. Seems to be very well run by the GM staff. :) From what I have read, 2 boxing is allowed as long as they are manually controlled and each box can have 1 bot.

I plan to mostly solo. I'm past the days of big guild time sinks.

What would you suggest I 2 box with? I was thinking a Warr and Cleric so I could directly control the heals and tanking, but is a defensive Warr necessary or could I duo a monk/cleric?

As for bots I was thinking, if I had a Warr and Cleric under direct control then my 2 bots would be a monk for dps and either a sham or ench for buffs/debuffs?

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Thanks

war tank isnt absolutely neccessary for small group content, however defensive makes a huge help (some of the stuff non wars need raid gear to tank), as for your box combo hrmm i would have to suggest a war/shm combo personaly (panther/might will help a ton with dps and since shm bots dont buff those), also shm bots maybe slow 1/10 mobs and the named that are slowable you definitely should slow. not to mention without healing AA a shm can heal for 4600ish roughly so you can control patch heals.

however i do say that just play whatever you feel like playing, its a game afterall ... designed to have fun, however i will comment on the bard bot though, out of all the bots it does its job as a bard the most effectively (not perfect) but it twists a varriety of balanced songs along with meleeing and slowing alot more frequently than a shm,bst bot)

thats just my 2 cents though im sure someone else is gonna post with better information

Thanks Sarcon. I appreciate the input.

I was worried that I'd need CH, but apparently not.

I could go Warr and Sham with monk/bard bots.

As far as I know, you can only have one bot in a group. If you would like to group them separately, then you can have two bots. On the upside you can create any class you like, and call them up as the situation allows, with a 3 minute gap between spawning bots of course.

If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me. I am relatively new to the server also.

I box a sk/bard/wiz with a cleric bot. Works well enough so far (in my 50's). When I know it's going to be rough I split up the group with the bard/wiz grouped with a cleric bot, and the sk with a cleric bot. Not the greatest combo, but I boxed a bard/wiz for years on live and grouped frequently with an SK, so I went with what's familiar. I plan on raiding with the bard/wiz combo eventually anyway, so the SK's just a tank while I level and when I feel like soloing.

For a solo player I would definitely recommend Shaman/Warrior then use a monk bot for DPS. Monk bots do great damage at 70, and when you throw panther on them they are beasts. Warriors can tank pretty much anything with a shaman, especially if it's slowable. I usually box anywhere from 2-5 toons, and when I do end up just two boxing then I usually prefer to have my Shaman/Warrior combo just for panther. You can always use a cleric bot also if you require heavy heals for some fights.

I've got a Rogue/Cleric duo that I play and sometimes bring in a 3rd box (Chanter or Ranger) if I'm feeling like dealing with the lag and crashes. If I had to do it all over again I would probably follow Jeido's advice as I see both him and Magoo doing stuff that I can never even imagine doing simply by having the presence of a warrior.

For the longest time I never farmed any items in Sebilis because as a Rogue it was hard even to stand up against some of those mobs who hit for 800+. Now that I have 95% of my defensive AA's I can finally solo Seb with a bot if I wanted too, but mobs that still hit any higher than 800ish can get rough and it all depends on how much I avoid damage rather than mitigate it. I would assume many other chain dps classes may have had the same experiences.

Only problem is I love my characters so they are here to stay :p

I'm used to playing a Wizard with a Pally bot. Works well AAing, but I wouldn't reccomend the combo. I'm stuck in a spot where I cant farm augs by myself. So I made a War/Cler/Mnk/Bard/Wiz group with a cleric bot. Hopefully that'll be good, if not I'll try the War/Shm myself.
