Group buff HP regen: Druid & Shamy

Hiya Tyler,

As most of the healing spells got customized, could you have a look on group regen spells :
Druid: Blessing of Oak (Lv 69)
shaman: Talisman of perseverance (Lv 69)

My point is that regen provided by those 2 group buffs is not in line with customized healing spells - druid one being better than shamy one actually on clone.

I always felt that end game regen spells were underwhelming even on live. A useful regen on THF should be like a long duration mini-HoT (Like 300/tick).

I already made a post about Talisman of Perseverance awhile back... Tyler said nothing is wrong with it, so my guess is you'll get the same answer ;)

I am More concerned with the druid one, That would give druids something usefull. Shamy already have lots of use. Hope it Will be considered.

Regen is a waste once you get to T2 or more. Even at 500hp/tick, that's not even enough to counteract Stream of Acid at 1500/tick or Chlorine Cloud at 850/tick. It's even worse on any mob that has AE rampage. With many mobs hitting upwards of 10-15k damage per rampage, you'd need 1000-1500 regen per tick to counteract that if it only went off once per minute, which it never does. Mobs are doing 5k-10k DPS easily, that translates to 30k-60k per tick. To regen even 5% of that damage you would need total regen to be in the 1500-3000hp/tick range.

Now, that would probably be overpowered for anyone not taking direct damage from a mob, but it puts regen in to perspective. 165hp/tick is not even going to be noticed.

Regen is not suppose to be THAT high so it could off set mobs DPS- if it would- there would be no point of having healing classes at all.
This does not however means its useless - its just not going to matter that much in high end raids, but its still a survival bonus.

I mean ok this isn't live but kinda maybe can compare live for this case with THF
Live atm top geared ppl run around with 40-50+k unbuffed HP around at lvl 85 top regen spell there is Talisman of the Resolute Rk. III wich is "Increase Hitpoints by 158 per tick" and is used by Shaman/Druids.
I believe the purpose of regen line was only to help counter some dot dmg maybe DS dmg or those classes like Shaman and Necro's that used there health to get mana faster back that is at end game for lower lvls its however great to have regen for everyone.

Yup, regen is to make sure people are "topped off" and mitigate some DPS.

Simple math - 150 pt regen on your group, thats 6x 150 pts/ tic for 40 mins. Pretty awesome mana/hp ratio.
Item Change -> Reload needed
Spell Change -> Reload AND new Spellfile needed

True, but in that logic I could give you +1 regen for all eternity and the hp/mana ratio would be awsome.

I understand you don't want everyone to have perma HoTs on them. I don't actually know myself, but what does a max focused cleric HoT heal for? Maybe make sure that regens are atleast 1/10 that much.
