An illusion like Nights Dark Terror http://www.thehiddenforest.org/spell.php?id=3241 instant cast that works in all zones but provides similar stat/status effects and hits whole group?

Better than NDT though, maybe a short lived one, but with much better taps/dodge etc, like you mentioned before, something for emergencies.

Or

A debuff that cripples the mob hard at the start, but slowly has less and less of an effect on the mob in question (if thats even possible), with a long recast time to compensate.

Again, it depends on tha fact that you want Chanter 2.0 being:
A group beneficial buff
A single self beneficial buff
A multiple target (NPC) debuff
A single target (NPC) debuff

Lots of beneficial ideas have been raised on the dedicated EPIC 2.0 post.
We already know that you do not want 2.0 to be a high level charm for example, Group runes also was not kept, etc...

Once we know exactly what you expect, I will go with further ideas.

Enchanter 2.0 Click:

Ward of Nullification - Places a buff on each member of your group causing any creatures that strike them to become slowed, crippled, rooted, and mesmerized. Lasts for three ticks.

Basically a defensive proc buff on each group member that debuffs the mob with the chanter's typical arsenal of slow, cripple, root, mez. If the mob cannot be mezzed/rooted/slowed then whatever effects they aren't immune to will still take effect.

Could make a good emergency click for when somebody grabs a few too many mobs.

Just thinking this through -> totally overpowered with typical 60 secs duration, 180 secs recast.

Technically, it's an defensive proc, like Druid Reptile (who heals the target when it gets hit).

So instead of healing the target, it will mez/root/slow etc the attacker. Let's say that(debuff) would last 2 ticks. The buff itself can only last 1 tic really, recast 30 secs or 1 min.

Ya I wouldn't expect something like that to have a full minute duration

It should be just enough for the enchanter to get things under control.

Edit: If its possible to seperate the cripple/slow/mez/root effect from one another (i.e. each debuff is cast from the defensive proc individually) I see no reason why the cripple and slow effects can't last their standard duration, with the root and mez being on a 12 second duration.

Found a way to limit max number of hits.

So we can make this a buff , lasting 60 secs but will fade after 12 hits (think quadding mobs). Will auto cast a root/mez/slot combo at -250 magic resist.

180 secs recast can apply then.

Im happy with that.
