Pets not equipping non visible items

I don't believe there has been an actual topic made for this, at least my search didn't find one, so if this has already been reported than I apologize for the double post.

I was playing around with my pet and using #mystats to check the stats of my pet as I was giving him items, and I've found that the haste mask, and any other non visible item (like the summoned focus jewelry, or the belt) is not giving the pets the stats which tells me that the pet isn't equipping the items. I tested each individual item, looking for ac, stat, or hp increase and only the summoned chain armor (only visible slot items I can summon atm) gave my pet the appropriate increase.

So far the only items I've found the pet to actually equip are weapons, and any visible slot item. If this is not on your list already of things to fix for pet classes, would you please add it Chaos, or whoever would take care of this bug?

Yeah, I brought this up about a month and a half ago.

It was hugged by Tyler but i've not heard any response since then. Here's to hoping this post will have better luck than my own! :D

Hmm, yours was much better put together so yours would have a better chance, but I guess it doesn't hurt to give a gentle reminder I guess lol!

Me hugging won't solve anything though as it appears to be a coding issue. Sorry guys. Need Zeiksz so sort this out.
Item Change -> Reload needed
Spell Change -> Reload AND new Spellfile needed

K, thanks for the update Tyler. Hopefully this will be a relatively easy fix for Zeiksz.

Glad I did a search first - I was just about to post on this issue myself.

Pets still don't equip anything that isn't a primary/secondary slot, as of today.

Nope they do equip all visible slots : you can give mage summoned armor to a pet and see its AC go up with #mystats. However if you give 2 weapons with stats, only the primary weapon modifiers apply to the pet.

Btw worn haste doesn't seem to work at all on armor slots, i didn't check with haste on a weapon but the silver chitin hand wraps from velketor doesn't give haste to the pet (it gives AC and hp tho).

to my best knowledge, haste from worn items does applies, but mystats only shows haste from spell buffs

This is surprising to me, as I did check before posting. I tried putting some of the free starter armor on to my skeleton pet, and some 'dropped' armor/jewelry pieces as well. They were all warrior-class compatible items with a warrior-class skelly.

To make a long story short - the pet just ate anything that wasn't a primary or secondary item. Mystats showed no indication of any change whatsoever.

starter armor is no-trade, and pets don't equip no-trade stuff even if the trade is accepted, the stuff just goes poof :P
