I raided sky and hate and fear and maybe I just didn't see it the same way but they never did much for me......I really did not like the hoops you had to go through in sky and the wipes in fear was just a drag for me. The plane/god/anguish was the fun ones for me I really enjoyed them.

Well, to be fair, I think the only real reason Fear/Hate/Sky had any effect on anyone whatsoever was the fact that after killing Naggy/Vox in classic EQ, they were the first real planes to raid we ever got access to.

Of course future content can be seen as more fun, more interactive, more intense, but from an ancient EQ players perspective, it was exciting as hell to finally be able to venture into the Planes. We had heard about them from the story that whole time; we knew they were the realms of the gods we all chose to worship upon creation. They had that untouchable, unbeatable element to them that added to their mysticism. We had no real idea of what to expect. When we were finally given access to go into these planes and even take on the very gods some of us followed, well, that was just huge.

Sky was even more mysterious than the other 2. I mean, we all knew Cazic Thule ruled Fear, Innoruuk ruled Hate; we didn't have a clue who to expect in Sky - Veeshan? Hardly.

I'll never forget my first time going into these zones. It was wild. 72 people trying to break into Fear, total chaos, mobs adding on people everywhere - it was all out war. Those zones will always have that nostalgic place in my heart - content may have become better and/or worse post classic EQ, but nothing in EQ, for me, will ever come close to those original Planes.

I couldnt have said it better myself. The nostalgia of venturing into the unknown, with a massive group of people. was just sooo much fun despite the pita nature of alot of it. but that was hardcore raiding @ its finest.

I do miss the old planes, but from a gameplay/design perspective they were in no way the best raid zones, but if i had to say what my favorite were they would rank in the top

Yea, PoFear/PoHate and surely followed by raiding VP (during Kunark). VP was intense as hell.

The -only- good thing about PoHate raids, back in the day, was that was the ONLY way to tell just how many Clerics your guild really had, as they would ALL log in for that raid, in hopes of getting some of that gawdawful Ethereal Mist purple armor.
I need a scorecard to keep track of all of my alts!!
Kymarrah/ Mierrie/ Cialla/ Dhaani/ Bellabee
and so very many more....
