Scythe of the Dark Lord

Over the last few hours, I have been doing some simple parsing of pet DPS (weaponless)
unbuffed, buffed with chaotic darkness, and buffed with augmentation of the dark lord.

The pet is the 1.5 pet, with the LDON focus aug.

Its clear, after parsing, that the unbuffed pet does nearly the same DPS as the pet with the augmentation of the dark lord buff cast on it.

The pet with the casted buff chaotic darkness, does much more dps than the unbuffed pet, and the pet with AOTDL on it.


Is this as intended?


If it is, i have to ask, am I missing something here?

What would be the point of using the clicky buff, and losing DPS over the casted buff?

Incidentally, doing a #mystats on the pet shows a -20 % haste on the pet with AOTDL on it, which does not change when stacking chaotic darkness on it.


If I'm missing something here, someone clue me in please.

Currently, I simply can't see any reason to use the clicky at all.

If it was a parallel to chaotic darkness, at least that would free up a spell gem.

Well the clicky does have some nice stuff attached to it but outside of meandering around in low tier encounters I do not bother with the pet. 8 second cast time on heal sucks. Pet dies regardless. Not going to have my cleric targeting my necro pet to keep it alive.
Hopefully all the pet focuses are "fixed" and stuff like armor on them actually works.

the necro pet like all pets just doesnt do much dps. with rampage and/or ae's on nearly every mob in higher tier zones, it probably isnt worth the time/effort to keep the pet up. on the brighter side, necros have decent dps with just their dots, and with appropriate focus/spells youll only be outparsed by wizards on non-trash mobs - your donator crit dot focus is why its usefull =)

Precisely why I have never considered buying the donator but maybe someday it will be made to not be terrible.

Also it does not look actually look like a scythe :d
