New to server. Help

My girlfriend and I will be joining this awesome server, but I have some questions. We won't be boxing at all, just the help from a bot. We will probably be starting the Alternate Progression Line. What duo+bot combo will get us the farthest on this server?

The girlfriend likes casters/pets and I'll probably play some type of healer since I understand the healer bots are pretty terrible. So I'm assuming some kind of tank bot will work.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Healing bots such as clerics are not horrible if you use them properly ;) Park them, if you let them go free range there abilities seem to diminish.

As for what classes are best, play what you enjoy. The server is set up that you can progress and have fun with any class up until raid level where groups are required.

Tanks bots are okay if you also take the time to gear them up as your are gearing up (same goes for any bot really), but if you want one to be able to take the damage get them teh same quest and drop armor you are getting and they will be far more agreeable.

As always if you are just starting play around with a couple of classes see what you like and go from there

imho,

if you certain you will play a healer (druids have very nice hp buffs now, and they get a small pet), then get warrior for a bot - its best tank + decent dps in one package.

Your GF, could then pick mage or necro I suppose.

If you going to trust healing to a bot, cleric will do the most healing, druid heals are ok most of the time + it will dot and nuke (which may seem like a waste in a group which will have a dedicated dps class). I haven't tried shaman as healing bot, but at-least you will get haste/slow.

Oh yeah make sure to read on Alt-P section before getting started, as many newcomers seem to miss most of quest npcs

Someone clearly has a bunch of enchanters on an account to throw the stats off.
