Short term use Consumbles (e.g. potions) with a huge effect.

Btw I agree with original poster about disparity between this and loop, given the cost is nearly double. Those slot 2 augs are hard to beat ;-)

So I waited untill I augged out the symbol to the same level as I had previously to post a better comparison between the two.

Now i did choose to use two of the better VP augs to push the hp/mana/end and ac to a decent level at the cost of mana regen that I would get from 2 caster elemental ears.

This aug combo is easily attained from air, ldon and a VP drop. With a side by side augged comparison you can see how a 8 2 1 aug combo adds more statwise then double 8. Initially my argument was about it being one of the casino rewards, but really this should be an argument about the best LDON buyable item, one that costs double the loop and does not stack up. I have both items in my Magelo just in case people think i'm playing with the numbers. Load it up and compare yourself ;)
The easiest fix would be to add a type 2 aug slot like just about every other ldon item has, or change it to a 8/2/1 so at least the same augs could be used in symbol as loop, which would make it scale the same.

Bump

I just won this on the casino and I'am really disapointed about this earring that should be elite !

Haunted weapon are the best weapons pre donor item , Earring isn't better then a Loop of kelethin that you can buy for less then 50k with the ldon market atm :(

+ you can't even resell it to someone for money or trade it for something interesting

This need a look I think =)

*edit: indeed add a slot 2 to this item so it worth the 5k ldon point atleast

It kind of depends on how you look at the items. (only care about its ac/hp/mp/end)
Loop of Kelethin:
AC: 55 HP: +550 MANA: +550 Endurance: +550

Slot 1, Type: 8
Warlike Ear
AC: 35
Skill Mod: rIPOSTE +16%
HP: +200 MANA: +175 Endurance: +175
SV FIRE: +5 SV DISEASE: +5 SV COLD: +5 SV MAGIC: +5 SV POISON: +5
Damage Shield: +5

Slot 2, Type: 2
Glowing Pearl of Magic
AC: 40
Focus: True Thunder
STR: +20 STA: +20 AGI: +20 DEX: +20 WIS: +20 INT: +20 CHA: +20 HP: +300 MANA: +300 Endurance: +300
SV FIRE: +19 SV DISEASE: +19 SV COLD: +18 SV MAGIC: +18 SV POISON: +18
Avoidance: +15
Damage Shield: +5
Dot Shielding: +4%
Mana Regeneration: +5
Spell Shielding: +4%
Stun Resist: +3%

Slot 3, Type: 1
Perfect Totem of Endurance
AC: 50

TOTAL: AC=180 HP=1050 MP=1025 End=1025
------
Symbol of The Hidden Vale:
AC: 75 HP: +725 MANA: +725 Endurance: +725

Slot 1, Type: 8
Warlike Ear
AC: 35
Skill Mod: rIPOSTE +16%
HP: +200 MANA: +175 Endurance: +175
SV FIRE: +5 SV DISEASE: +5 SV COLD: +5 SV MAGIC: +5 SV POISON: +5
Damage Shield: +5

Slot 1, Type: 8
Warlike Ear
AC: 35
Skill Mod: rIPOSTE +16%
HP: +200 MANA: +175 Endurance: +175
SV FIRE: +5 SV DISEASE: +5 SV COLD: +5 SV MAGIC: +5 SV POISON: +5
Damage Shield: +5

Total: AC=145 HP=1125 MP=1075 End=1075

Basically the loop wins out on AC side and can go in ring slot which is basically the same aug for the slot 8. A 75 HP gap is pointless. A moss snake kicks for more then that. The minor difference in stats is just that, minor.
A one sec faster gate is just not worth it. However if this item had a slot 2 aug added to it then it would be hands down the best value for a non-donator.
Just my opinion.

All right guys, we'll make Loop of Kelethin more expensive when time permits. Thanks for the feedbacks!

Sorry lillu but I don't see the point of making Loop more expensive.

It's not fair for other people who couldn't buy it for 2k5 like everyone else.
it make the casino grandprize looks uncool because you win an item just like everyone else can get.

even if Loop and Symbol costed the same price , loop would stil be better because of the type 2 aug that offer you a really cool aug + a spell focus that you can't get on Symbol.
Loop has 4 slot possible , ring/earring and isn't lore , it's basically one of the best ring/earring ingame.
For donator people , they can even put a leaf in slot 1 and get an insane earring.

Loop is fine now and don't need to be changed state or price wise, because it wouldn't be fair for everyone.

Symbol , indeed , needs a boost

Sorry Firenze, but I don't see your point. What do you mean can't afford a 2K+ ldon item? It even might drop in PoAir. This is not a raid ideam you "can't get", it's something you can get if you spend enough time getting ldon points. Anyone!

Seeing that Loop is used by every single player 2-4 times is a clear proof of the item being top gear. Another reason why it shouldn't be so cheap.

Anyways, this arguing is really old now, we are beating a dead horse here. Every opinion was expressed and we will do what we feel right about it. Keep arguing over it if you want but it won't change anything.

Finally, let me quote Mikuz.

-How or why these items are even open for comparison to be adjusted boggles my mind, your gambling you get what you get.
-These items can be obtained with a lucky level 1 with his/her first 151 plat iirc.
-Its not based off your gear or what npcs you have killed or even how much plat you have spent, its pure luck of the roll.
-No hidden "tricks up the sleeve" to restrict winners from winning again or anything like that.

-Remove or exchange all no drop to tradable dont even waste time with attunable.
-Remove or exchange all items to not match any quest or npc dropped items.
-Remove all top tier comparable items and replace with items desirable to all for other reasons than stats like clickies with portable banker, non-instanced teleporter, Sune in a bottle ect. (<--ideas welcomed)

Re: Symbol of the Hidden Vale

Honestly, my OPINION is that the symbol is underwhelming comparatively speaking, if judging purely on a LDoN perspective. It's plainly obvious that it's not worth the LDoN points if there's a much cheaper alternative. I would agree that the loop is pretty damn cheap considering that tokens are circulating the market and coming up with 2.5k in points isn't exactly a tremendous challenge or timesink anymore if you have the plat. I'd still prefer to see a compromise here, along the lines of increasing the base cost of the loop substantially and lowering the cost of the symbol. If the intention is to fairly balance the cost vs. reward aspect of both items, then the symbol should be at the least the same price as the loop, especially if the loop was to get raised to say, 3.5k points. But again, this is just another person's opinion.

However, the dev's are absolutely right on this one. It's a gamble. You get what you get, and be happy you got something. Don't like it, don't gamble. From a strictly casino viewpoint, would you guys be lobbying to change the stats of this item if it wasn't purchasable through LDoN points? Likely not, because you would have no comparative "value" to base your claims on. Would this item be vastly superior with a type 2 slot instead of the second type 8? Hell yeah. Is that what the dev's want you to be able to obtain? Doesn't seem that way.

It's a dead horse, like Lillu said. Just a lot of opinions, but in the end, we play the game the way the developer's have shaped it for us. You make your suggestions, and they either agree or disagree. I think they've made it clear that they don't agree with us here...
