Imagine everytime a piece of armor drops, having to despawn your tank, wait 3 mins to spawn your mule, then repspawn your tank and rebuff him. That's a bit much. The lore tags on the no drop gear really isn't needed. There is no reason for anyone to loot more than one of these items unless it's needed for a bot. Serves no other purpose.
That, in and of itself, can be said to be a reason to KEEP lore tags. Bots are meant to supplement solo play, but in reality are like having a second toon on the same account that will respond to your commands. Players have to make decisions all the time over how their gear setup is acquired and maintained. Why should this free second character be any different? The fact that you can just pop a bot and be like "hold this", goes against the way Everquest and other mmo's re designed as a genre. I personally feel that waiting the three minutes of your times is well worth the price to pay to save yourself potentially HOURS in some cases refarming some armor pieces. Just because you feel it inconvenient doesn't mean it is inherintly flawed.
That aside, The Hidden Forest is an ever changing place thanks to Dev / GM time and effort. The fact that Lillu is even willing to consider taking off LORE tags shows that thought is put into the community feedback. But this time i'm playing the villian here. Taking lore tag off of chaotic armor isn't necessary. You can just hand it to the spectre for it to change armor types while you juggle gear, or hand it to your bot. Taking lore tag off of Powerful (t4) armor isn't necessary, as you don't have to make it until you are ready to pass your current version on. Taking the LORE tag off the
patterns, however, would be a step I could understand. With the results being No Drop and Lore, one could bank excess patterns for bot use on whim.
Just my 2c, ymmv.
