Your takin this way too personal. This is how THF is "now". Im simply trying to improve the game for others as well as myself. THF was never about the endless grind the way hoh was designed to be. Its like you have put up a brick wall and said, we made it this way and we will never change it. How many things have changed since I started on the server that at one point the devs said never would be simply because enough people wanted it changed. The only thing that I can think of where people wanted change and never was, PoF instanced.

What game in history has been successful while not accepting feedback from their user base. I even started off my post with hats off to the grinders and the devs for the content but just thought a few areas needed to be reevaluated for the server as a whole. What did I mention that was so out of line? Bumping up the exp to 1.2x or putting some evolving items on rare chance to drop from minis? Augs really rare drop from trash? I am puzzled as to why this has offended you so much.. Improving content helps everyone beating down the messenger helps no one.

I'm not taking anything personal. T8 is Vaions creation for every bit of it, but indeed I believe it's one of the best/most entertaining/challenging raid zone eqemu wide (hell it even puts many live EQ raid zones to shame).
What I disagree with is your comment about it being an endless/needless grind. It's simply not true.

So to sum it up, many thanks for your comment Taladome but you don't have to keep argue to make your point. Also, if we say this will stay as it is, try to live with it without keep arguing. We not necessarily will change things based on a feedback.

Other than the testers, I was the first person actively hunting in HoH. Heck I can’t even tell you how long ago that was. But I can tell you that I’ve enjoyed every aspect of it. As a casual gamer, I have something I can do with just my warrior and his rogue bot. It might be slow but its steady and I’m working towards something that nearly nobody else on THF has.

Personally I would be hurt if the zone became simpler. (gaining points faster) It would be quite similar to working your way up the progression for months+ only to have folks new to the server pass you in content in weeks. But this is just my play style and I understand that some people are quite the oposite. Fortunatly for both types there are many things to do on THF at the top.

I believe that those of us that can should be getting on the test server and helping address the current issues that the zone has. Once those problems are fixed, it will give the Dev team more time to consider adding more content and/or working on the massive list of projects they have.

I agree with with every aspect of this, tho i would not call myself casual lol.

Honestly i truly understand why people look at the grind and get overwhelmed by it. 15k points to evolve a weapon from start to finish Is alot. but honestly, its not just a time sync, it requires you to be invested in the name of progression. Points = Bane weapons = Dead bosses. Shattered has brought up a number of the itemization issues to vaion at least from volkara, as things stand the loot is a bit sub par, but im sure once he gets around to it (i know your busy bro!) items will be more enticing.

Honestly tho, im someone who doesnt kill for the loot. Im not motivated by a shiny new weapon. For me t8 is all about the competitive nature of classic eq back in motion. The rush of killing a boss for the first time (weather server first or first as a guild doesnt matter) is what drives me. I look at the grind here, and take it in strides. I get on for 1 hour every day to use my necklace. and will often times spend another hour with double point potions popped. 1-2 hours a day, doing something productice > sitting around in guild hall for 2 hours, or the vale etc.

Im starting to ramble, so ill wrap it up. By saying - yes get on the test server and crash the sh1t out of HoH. Been sending a steady supply of bugs and issues to vaion regarding t8 crashes, but 1 person/1 guild cant do it all. (and since shattered can not, no matter how gd hard we try get the regular hoh zone to crash, need others on there to try to mimic the live zone.)

Thanks for a great zone Vaion - the grind sucks but the reward of killing Volkara was worth every mind numbing minute we spent killing trash. <3. (and i promise you ill stop sending PMS RE how much i hate you for the grind....)

You can always find a silver lining if you look. While we spend time grinding away, the devs have plenty of time to create new content for us. If you can whip thru the new content in a week, what are you going to do while you wait for the next tier to be added?

i gotta say the grind isn't just hoh, it is getting there. we have people leaving and taking extended breaks cuz that quest has broken them. they just don't wanna log in cuz they know they are gonna be doing something that is like pulling teeth. could we maybe get a little increase to the quest piece drop rate? :) last i heard it was 3%. i am a slacker and still on st cuz if i stuck with it i'd lose my mind.. cuz as you keep pointing out different people have different tastes. some guys grind it hard and love every minute. it is mind numbing to me. :P but i have done full clears of that zone without getting one essence i need. sometimes i only see maybe 2 essences at all. the thought of farming fear with a drop rate like that makes me shudder.

as the hoh grind goes, i don't wanna do it so i don't lol. i'll just wait til we are raiding the place and let the points come as they will. maybe my guild will hate me for that i dunno :)

I feel your pain man. My second time through the quest so I could flag my main group was terrible.
Must have cleared fear about 25 times before I stopped going up there, only got the final drop while clearing ct for alts to finish arms.

I guess i am the minority here, but i am enjoying the zone as is for the most part. I think people need to look at it from the big picture perspective.

When guilds first break into t7 its going to take months of farming to get fully DSK geared and HoH is about the same. The only difference is that T8 is much friendlier to the small group or box player & you can work on collecting points outside of raid. this is a good design as it lets many people gear up at their own pace and schedule. you also get a lot of drops up front and have to work to evolve them. what is wrong with this? I really like having the option to do something meaningful outside of raid events too.

While i understand that there are many hardcore players posting here, no one is holding a gun to your head to grind points in T8. Having said that, the finished items from HoH do take a huge amount of time to finish (~15,000 kills) so i get why people feel the way they do. The dark insidious item grind is insanely long! It makes finishing them a significant accomplishment though. My only real complaint would be that the godly token drop rate is a bit low after some recent tuning.

Simply delete this thread pls, since I am unable to defend myself or my thoughts out of warning of ban, the post serves no purpose other than scare others from speaking their mind. If it were truly an issue an anonymous poll coulda been started then you might have a chance at seeing how the majority truly felt. I have claculated the total number of kills needed to obtain a full set of hoh gear and augs based on god token drop rates and 1 a day clicky. Calculate it up for youself and see the numbers. Gearing from dsk is fast and easy and when your done with couple hour clear you have loots and augs for everyone and move on waiting for tomarrows pop. You wont get that from a couple hours in HoH.
