Just want to say THANKS

*Sorry it is so long but had to get off my chest after reading some other posts*
I started playing Live EQ back in 2000 and I really did love the game, I played it for almost 8 years but because of real life I could not do what I wanted to do in live. I took a break for a few years and a friend of mine, who I met on live, sent me an email in regards to his server so I figured what the heck let’s give it a try. I enjoyed playing on his server but it was just me and him and nobody else so at times it really was boring. He had some issues with the server and after a few complete “re-do” I decide the small bit of time that I do play I did not want to see my accomplishments just get erased every other month or two so I started inquiring about making my own server. During this time I found EQEmulator and started fiddling a bit with making my own. OMG with not knowing a lot of information I was a blind man trying to find a light in a dark room. It was not pretty.

I think it was February of this year I found out about other servers that were available and I played a few of them and then I found THF. At first I did not know anybody, and honestly I still don’t, but I thought that it was more live like then some of the other servers that I played on but it was not too 'hokey' in regards to the way that it progressed. I found that if I wanted to group I could find a group. If I need some help I could usually find some as the community was almost always helpful.
Now I am a person who has a 5am to 8pm job, yeah it sucks at times, but I still have fun on this server. I know what I can and cannot do with my toons and sometimes I hope it is more can then cannot but hey I'm lucky if I play a total of 10 hours a week with majority of them being on the weekend. I also have a family that plays, at times, so I usually will try and kill Vulak or something with them along those lines when we do play.

So this is what it all really comes down to. I play a game that I enjoy and that I do not have to pay a fee for whenever I want (assuming the wife is not giving me the evil eye) and I can have what is my “release” from the real world with this game. I can yell at my computer when I make a stupid mistake like I try to heal the tank with the ranger instead of the cleric. Yeah that is right I have been casting like a beast before trying to figure out why the tank is still dropping so fast. That was an interesting conversation with myself (a lot of cursing, yelling and face-palming) but I still realize that this is a game.

Devs I would like to say THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO! Devs you are neglected by people like me as I never see you, I never hear from you directly but I just expect everything to be good and in working order. I understand that there will be ‘issues’ with the server as you do not, as far as I know, have a multi-billion dollar funding company behind you. I try and donate when I can but I am sure that donations are not a set amount that you can run a budget off of so the time that you give to allow me to play is not always rewarded in the form of a paycheck but hopefully every once in a while you hear from the small people like me and know that I really do care and your hard efforts are truly appreciated. I hate to read that some people cannot respect the few guidelines that you have and honestly I agree with the statement that if you do not like it, leave. I respect that some people may have a different opinion than mine and that some people are just living to be a pain in the hiney as it is the only thing that they know how to do.

Once again, I know it is not much but thank you again, each and every one of you for everything that you do, did or will do in the future: Lillu, Vaion, Aruun, Micah, Tyler, Zeiksz, Psizer, Mikuz, Striat, Topsy and those that are retired for what they have done in the past ChaosSlayer, Gruffy, Allizar, Pyronost/Jericho, Koeril

I totally agree with you and couldn't have said it any better! People need to remember that this is an emu server run by a small dedicated group of people. We're so lucky to have them working as hard as they do. You guys have my heartfelt thanks for both keeping things running and putting up with us haha.
