Sup bro, cool to see you still at it. TGressus sends his stinky regards.

Steam uses a subset of client files, which are then used to patch fully with Launchpad as intended with a Live subscription. This starter pack has been based on the UF client since Jun 2010. Any change to this will probably be noted in the first post of the following thread:

So as of now you can buy whatever expansion you want from Steam and you will get the UF client. From there you need to copy/overwrite certain files from Titanium. Use the file size column in the list from the following thread to determine which files to overwrite. Titanium doesn't have the last set of files listed. You can use a separate Launchpad patched Live installation to source these files. Don't forget to patch THF files afterwards:

Now that EQ1 has gone free to play, things could change, but the current eqemu dev folks seem to think Steam delivery is best to develop against. You can follow them here:

Thanks for the reply, but I wish I was to the point where I had the problem of missing files; I simply can't find the client for sale at Steam. Maybe I'm in the wrong place, but every link that I've found that leads to the UF client doesn't provide an option to buy anything.

I saw this before, and asked Lillu about it once, so I know it was out there; Ijust can't find it now. So, my question really is, where do I buy the UF client on Steam?

Steam no longer sells the UF client. Amazon does, but it is a broken client that isn't even remotely usable.

Answered this already. No matter what expansion you buy, the current client download from Steam is UF. It doesn't become HoT or VoA until you patch live with Launchpad.

Meaning if you already purchased the UF client from Steam, you can still download it. But if you have yet to purchase it, you are out of luck.

Apparently Steam only maintains one EQ redistributable at any point in time, and the current package is based on the UF client. Until they change to a new package, you currently get a UF client from Steam no matter what expansion you buy today or have bought in the past.

This is going to be my last post to this thread regarding this. If you don't believe one of the the lead dev from eqemulator, that is up to you.

That is true, and if you had previously purchased any version of EQ from Steam, that would be the case. However, Droonkan, I don't think you are following what they are trying to say. The issue is that there are no longer ANY versions of EQ available for purchase from Steam. If you search for Everquest on Steam, it only gives a small list of Videos and the EQ2 F2P download.

http://store.steampowered.com/search/?s ... =Everquest

Until they put EQ back on Steam, there will be no legal ways of attaining a copy of EQ that works with EQEmu other than getting the actual discs for Titanium or SoF.

We are hopeful that EQ will be added back to Steam soon. It will most likely have a free version (up to HoT) as well as a VoA version available. Both will most likely be the same exact download like they have always been. I suspect that it will be a new download which will most likely be the VoA client. Unfortunately, this is all just best guess based on what we have seen in the past. It may be that SOE plans to not put EQ back on Steam so they can prevent EQEmu users from attaining it that way. Though, that will just push people to use illegal means to get the client more often than ever.

Our only other option is to find another legal client source that doesn't change with every patch, or to try to update the client with every Live patch which would be no easy thing to do and maintain. The only good thing about keeping up with Live patches is that EQ is now F2P so anyone could get the client files for free easily directly from SOE. I am still hoping for Steam to get EQ1 back again, and it very well may. I think it took them a while to update the EQ2 download when EQ2 went F2P, so they may do the same thing with EQ1.

I see a few links where you can supposedly purchase seeds,
http://www.amazon.com/EverQuest-Seeds-o ... B003GDIFSM
However I have doubts on if they still work.
I know some people have a stockpile of unopened CD sets for titanium and SoF.
Maybe I can find a site that has them for cheap.

Thanks for the replies!

They verified that the client is just not available atm, or, may be unreliable. This at least tells me it's not ME that's the problem.

I'm playing with SoF and don't have a burning need to change clients, it's just something I figured I'd do on one box and check out alongside the other. I can wait.
