Chaotic focus is as we all know a 170 hp, 15 str,dex cap upgrade to previous focus however you did make it single target and not group, not a issue in grouping imho but as a raider its gonna get really tedious to buff each person, and each person after they die (any way to change to group version or add a group version to say raid drop only?)

Either is feasable really. Spells work in mysterious ways. If Lillu or Tyler gives me an OK, I will fix that to be group only. A spell patch is not required clientsided to fix this, but it will look single target until you patch.

This is very minorly noted, but as you continue to progress gear and such for bards, if you run out of things to add to the arsenel of gear, perhaps make a joke item along the lines that gives bards a form of a clickie with hate increasing. :P (Instrument caps were maxxed for me a loooooooong time ago with AA's and such + my epic, so giving me instrument mods on each gear is useless and you have been doing so since I have gotten bard specific gear)

You see, I have a warrior yes, but her gear sucks since it's not my main box. I am trying to retire it too. My bard is walking around with the best gear of my group, but has absolutely no way to keep aggro off a rogue/zerker even if they use evasive measures. Bards will always suck at tanking vs. tanks, since even if they wear plate their defensive stats cap at a lower level, not to mention they lack defensive disciplines.

If you think about it, every plate class has a form to lock taunt except bard. Even clerics, they can heal themselves/players and stun the mob, and keep good hate. SK/PAL have it built in, and so does warrior.

I don't want super awesome taunt.. but some form of clicky to keep it off my DPS would be awesome. Majority of the time I'll never use it, but would be extremely handy while grinding because if I can't keep it off my DPS the aggro just ping pongs and trust me, I love grouping with SK/PAL/WAR but some times I can't find one online.. Would be nice to have a backup, a way to keep it off my floppy DPS and at least have it on a semi crappy bard tank.

That's all... If other classes feel this is unfair for a bard, then perhaps consider making stun actually generate aggro again like it did on live, that's how I used to tank with my bard, chain stun the mob via songs, and cast runes.. But both of those methods have like next to no taunt on EQEMU. :/

I believe bards should be a support class instead of a primary tank, however, being able to maintain aggro for any class who does not have heals is a must, because chances are they are using a cleric bot, and the cleric bot gets aggro fairly quick.

The solution to this is simple:
Add a taunt effect to the bellow line
OR
Add a hate gain increase song for bards. Self only, works just like the whistle self-haste line including the haste, And the Whistle line will gain an aggro decreaser.

Either would make bards viable for solo tanking, the second will have have an appropriate role on raids. Bards are not the best tanks, obviously, and they never will be. This will make them more viable for solo/duo play.

yeah, my role is to be support. I will always be support, and lean towards that. But from time to time as you say, when i'm soloing, or when a tank isn't available, it'd be nice to have some form of hate generating tool. Trust me if a tank is available to group I will always take them.. :P

I don't have any complaints here about a type of aggro for bards. I actually like the idea of a song that gives them a stun/aggro proc (stun does generate aggro, btw, but it's not nearly as much as live was it seems). Shin also makes good points about the lack of tanks on offtimes -- this is an emu, even on live it was hard to find tanks :) It would be nice for most/all raiders to have the ability to do lesser content for alts, fun, helping others, etc.

in my opinion the easiest fix is just increase aggro of stun.
I have stun songs, paladins would love it, and most players who utilize stun will really only utilize it for hate (I mean most bosses/mobs are unstunnable anyways, so only time you reliably cast is it for hate. Even weapon procs are for hate mod if it has stun component.).

So increase stun hate amount even when it's casted on an immune mob, and I think that solves the bard issue + most jobs can equip a SSoY or have stun components (zerkers do, at least, ench, clr, pal, etc).

Single version is intended as you get a group version next zone.

About the Bard/Stun/Agro issue - im not against it. We'll discuss that internally (i think first time i said that ;)) and let you guys know.
