New to ISBOXER - A few pointers?

Hiya!
Im totally new to Isboxer, and atm i plan on 3 boxing a Mage, Cleric & Ranger.
I tried to follow the instructions on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB3-Pr3_3AU), however this link is from 2009, and didnt have any fancy wizards :)

I managed to map a few keys, create character sets, and export them, however when i decide to launch my character set with Innerspace and try to log in, it says wrong password.

Its as if it doesnt use my eqhost.txt with eqemulator settings, but tries to connect to the live servers?

Any pointers to get me started using ISBoxer?

:)

When you installed ISBOXER, you more than likely have an EQ folder linked to live and ISBOXER automatically set it up for you. You need to configure the Everquest you have for emulators as a new game.

Right click Innerspace in the task manager, select "Add Game", for name you can say for example "EQEmu" for game executable, use the browse feature and select eqgame.exe from your EQ Emu folder that has the everquest you use for emulators .. On "parameters" put in "patchme" (without quotes)..

Then its probably best to just re-run the wizard in isboxer and when it ask what game, select everquest for the top panel selection, then for the second pull down select EQEmu, and finally, since you will never be running the patcher, you will only have one profile set up, that already has the "patchme" parameter set, select it...

Else perhaps when it originaly set up eq your parameters are missing the "patchme" line..

Thank you for the reply!

This removed the db issue however a couple new problems emerged.
I try to log in, and its stuck at "Logging in to the server please wait", and i wait for it to timeout, then i try again.
I can then log in, but sometimes there will no servers there, and sometimes i will be able to log in to server screen, eventually all screens just go black if i cant get passed character screen.

If i launch the game normally just using WinEQ2 i can log on without any problems.

Also, there is something up with key bindings:
I bound SHIFT + D to "tell the game" that i want to press the key D in-game. (All/w current).
I use the key "D" to move forward in-game, however if i press Shift + D, the only thing that happens is that my character is standing completely still, but im typing DDDDDDD on the other screens. (I thought All /w current is supposed to mean i want all the characters to do the same thing?).

Although this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lrYUsCicQE video is for EQ2, it covers many points you will be using in eq1 if you are not going to be using MQ2 with Innerspace (if using MQ2, then you would use a different method to get your boxes to follow)

Its generally a bad idea to pass movement keys to all boxes at the same time, its better to have a hotkey setup in for instance, slot 2 in your autobar, and then on all your boxes you could create a macro that reads:

/tar joe
/pause 2
/sit off
/fol

And then on your keymap, you select Window all w/o current and have it pass "2" to the windows, this would have all the boxes hit their 2 hotkey, which you assigned to a macro to follow joe..(technically, if using this method you would only use this hotkey sequence when "joe" is your main focus), this will have all your clones target joe, assuming joe is your main toon, and start following him..

ISBoxer is really fine tuned to WoW with the built in char autofollowing ect, but there are options for EQ, the afore-mentioned use of a hotkey, or if using MQ2, then passing the command through a bcs server..

As for you getting ddddddd on your clones, I would assume you had a chat window dialog open, and instead of parsing the d key to move, it was "chatting", but I could be wrong...As for your char standing still, I assume the main window was detecting Shift D, not D...

Im at a loss as to why you are having difficulties getting to server select.

Are you able to log in at all when launching the char set from Innerspace??

Thanks :)
I will try this out when i get home from work.

When i launch the character set from Innerspace i can sometimes log in to server list, sometimes it just times out, but most times i will get to character screen, but upon clicking "Enter World", nothing happens.
After a while (perhaps 5minutes), the screens will go black, and then return me to account login screen.

I am however able to log in one of the characters, but only one.

:o

Think i've got it working :)

One thing im curious about tho, im using the commands you typed above for follow command.
But there is a delay in the following, so its easy for the characters to get stuck in a wall, or door, etc.
I've noticed many boxers dont have this problem, whats the trick?

The pause 2 is a very short pause but without it sometimes if its a little laggy the hotkey will try to follow before they have completed the /tar joe part, so the /pause 2 is a very short delay..You could try /pause 1 or remove it alltogether, but will be issues when laggy.

As for others, more than likely they are using MQ2 and broadcasting a /stick command to follow their leader, and this is almost instant as it doesnt send the command through the server, using /face fast ect..

Also, ISBOXER has many cool advanced features you could implement, such as instead of using a follow hotkey hard coded to one character, you could have it coded to follow whomever is the main focus when you hit that key(you would have to manually change the commands scripts inside ISBOXER itself for this, but there are guides)..

Definitely check out the ISBOXER wiki as there are many howtos that you can implement on EQ.
