The different client softwares

I use Titanium, but I noted that there are 4 different kinds of client software that you could use to access THF. Will some of the latter versions give more functionality than Titanium? Could you get the same functionality through new UI mods, ala eqinterface?

Is the link to download SoD via amazon functional? http://www.amazon.com/EverQuest-Seeds-o ... B003GDIFSM (A comment on that page says it's defunct and if someone already knows it's not working, I'd druther not pay $20 to find out. Also, I wonder, if the download IS working, if it'll try to brand the live server stuff into it).

The EQEmu supported clients are mentioned here:

http://www.eqemulator.org/wiki/wikka.ph ... =PlayGuide

Some of the features available in the newer clients are listed here:

http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.ph ... ntFeatures

Keep in mind that THF does not have the SoD HP/Mana/End formulas enabled (as far as I am aware), so you don't get the extra benefit from them and your HP/Mana/End bars will never go to full due to that. Also, keep in mind that THF runs some heavily modified source, which makes it hard for them to stay current with EQEmu (as it has to be done manually which is a major pain I am sure), and so it is not likely they will support the RoF client anytime soon. The EQEmu Devs are still working on a solution for the new RoF client anyway, as Steam has been doing updates to the download which breaks the compatibility. The solution will probably require at least semi-regular updates to include new client versions as they get added, which is something else that may make it hard on THF to keep up. Though, maybe the move from SVN to Git will make it possible for them to do merges, but that may depend on how different the source is (which I believe is considerable).

Either way, that Amazon download is definitely not a supported client on any EQEmu server. Your best option may be to stick with Titanium, though you might want to try out SoD or UF and see which you prefer. Unfortunately, there is no legal way of attaining SoD or UF clients anymore, so you would need to find the EQEmu compatible version(s) of those on your own if you want them. You can still find the SoF discs here and there, but that client has some stability issues which are not present in the newer clients.

Trevius is right on everything, only, we will definitely support RoF when the right time has come. Getting up to date with latest eqemu revisions is not really an issue (according to Vaion), we actually keep merging important fixes every now and then. The problem is, we can't afford to enable an arsenal of bugs and exploits that would come with the actual RoF client support. But again, it's planned just we don't want to rush it.

On a side note, the SoD HP/Mana/End formulas might get enabled at some point since the benefit from for SoD client over the Titanium one is not that significant anymore (considering our custom items/spells/etc). We just usually try to treat all clients equally. There's still quite a lot of Titanium client out there and thanks to P1999 they keep coming.
