This issue has been up before, and i thought it was fixed but its not.
I login to eqemulator.org, and this problem only occurs when there's alot of traffic on eqemulator, all the US players logging on etc.
If i play earlier in the day, i can log on, zone, without any problems.
Information about my system:
OS: Windows 7 Professional
Network card: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
Router: ASUS RT-N66U
Running: Everquest Titanium
If i try to login, sometimes i wont be able to login at all, and other times i cant see any servers, il have to repeat this process until at some point il be able to log in (might be 50+ attempts), but it cant be like this every evening.
I've tried these options so far:
1. Add: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start /affinity 1 to shortcut.
2. Re-installed EQ, and follow all procedures
3. Uncheck texture caching
4. Lower the FPS to about 30ish fps
5. Update drivers on video card, and run windows update.
6. Running EQ as administrator and in compatibility mode.
7. Installed Underfoot client and did all the steps on site
8. Stopped all firewalls including router
9. used ipconfig /flushdns
10. Deleted network card, re installed drivers
11. Set the router back to fabric defaults
12. Formatted machine, re-installed EQ
13. Router - Activated port forwarding to open port: 5998
14. Router - Activated port triggering: 5998
15. Router - Entered IP Address on WAN - DMZ.
16. Downloaded the PFPortchecker tool and it verified that my port 5998 is indeed forwarding correctly.
17. Grabbed my computer and headed up to a friend's place to check if it was my networkcard causing the problems, but everything worked perfectly there.
18. Checked that my router is actually port forwarding 5998, and it is.
