Morell-Thule here, guild Flames of Vengeance, a very discret but efficient korean guild.
We were a few euros in this guild, since there were not any euro guild on really high end raids.
Good years spent there, but what a timesink...
THF is perfect on this side : U can play whenever U want, and there's no more stupid timesinks... well not much left =p

Started on Live about 2001. Played a warrior all that time. I had to take some breaks here and there because of RL things. I finally retired after weeks of being upset about how a warrior can't keep up with a knight in aggro generation in a group setting, and the voice of the warrior class on live "CRT" member that's a warrior has no clue but because of some quality butt kissing they are on the table.

I was with Final Empire on Povar. I really enjoyed those guys and gals deeply, my raid attendance was always 95% or higher. I just hated VoA with all the needed Language garbage you needed with tasks and missions that required you to do them in order. And to top it off like I mentioned above, a warrior can not produce aggro like a knight, so pulls would have to be a lot slower and singles, because our aggro discs would not be refreshing fast enough.

Feb 19th of 2012 was my final Magelo update, and my final night of raiding.

I read through all the posts all the way to here and realized... WOW! EQ has robbed so many of hours of thier live [myself included]! LOL! Nah, really though, good times.

I started EQ about 2-3 months after closed beta started, before it went "live."

I remember my best friend and #1 D&D Player [the old P&P game with character sheets and dice] disappearing for like a month in the late summer of 1998, and out of concern visiting him. When I arrived his mother greeted me and warned, "If you're here for ----- I don't think you'll have much luck getting him out of the den." I found him in front of a computer all strung out and haggard looking as if he hadn't seen a bed in... well a month. LOL! The piles of Mountain Dew bottles and empty cartons of cup'o'noodles were strewn about. He was sitting in the dark, staring expressionless at the screen, glare upon his face... slowly he rotated his face towards me and said, "hey man, how you been? I just hit 37 and me and a bunch of guys are going to go and camp these giants for a while, so I can't be long because they need me as a back up tank."

I was just like, "Huh? Okay want to step out for a smoke?" We chatted and he convinced me to come in and take a look. He was a wood elf ranger and for it's time, graphics were nice, game seemed like everything I imagined D&D would be if they made a worthwhile video game. However, seeing my friend like that I was afraid at first to get involved. There were all the media people out on the "EverCrack" witch hunt. My church was telling people, "never let your kids play this it absorbs your soul," and such... But finally, I missed my best friend, and loved RPGs, so I caved. Back in 2002-2003 that ranger became one of the founding fathers of Triality on the [I believe, could be wrong] Rallos Zek server.

My bro and I wound up founding "Ministry of Pain," on several servers but finally landed to stay on Vazelle. Played many characters. Usually with a dwarf paladin main with a dwarf cleric as a secondary and my bud was usually dark elf shadow knight or iksar monk with full plate armor and swords. LOL! I have made several Flynt's/Kurzesblatt's and he several Drakularr's/Draklarr's. We ended up getting many RL friends to sign up and into the guild. At one point we were in the top 10 largest guilds, could never keep up with guilds that'd recruit level 1 noobs though. MoP and Triality became raid allies for a while then there were some internal conflicts and we started drifting apart.

People started losing interest after Planes of Power expansion was released but when The Serpent's Spine came out most of the older players began to quit. It was almost embarassing to see a bunch of new players come in and in a week or two have better gear, higher levels, and hundreds more AA's than those that've been playing for years. All the Argeant Defenders, Centi swords, Swiftblades of Zek, and Silver Chitin Handwraps obsolete.

:(

I mean there were people coming out of Gloomingdeep with gear that seemed comparable to my level 64 Paladin. When the cap was bumped to 75 that seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back. There were suddenly people that were on full raid geared 75's standing around asking how to get to the Bazaar, what's a PoK, and the infamous "today is my first day here, I just EBay'd this account, where should I go to hunt?" LOL. That was when the majority of the remaining veterans quit with me also. Drak stayed around a bit longer, but now he is here also.

Glad to be here, very nostalgic after a few years away from EQ. Still getting the swing of things but having fun.

After running in to some fellow Luclinites ("we know drama") on the server, I figured I'd add to this thread.

Originally, Kythanon Kithicor, ranger of Povar, veteran of the Battle of Bloody Kithicor.

Moved to Luclin when it opened. First character there was a ranger named Trevecca, followed by a monk named Pywackett, and a warrior named Koreset. Ended up taking over leadership of the <Knights of Everdark>, which eventually merged in to <Bruins Marauders>. Started a bard named Ravenn, then abandoned him to go play on my girlfriends server, Druzzil Ro.

Played a necro on Druzzil (Zarp), a bard (Kythanon), and a beastlord (Akoma) with <Rutabaga Paradox>. Some of the most fun I ever had with EQ. Broke it off with the girlfriend and went to Tarew Marr.

Played a necro named Crullak with Omen. Raided for about 2 weeks, went back to Luclin.

Leveled Ravenn and got in to Insidious Blood. 2nd most fun I've ever had in a game. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. As iB started to entertain the notion of playing World of Warcraft, I started a shaman named Frozted Poptart and started the guild Insperatus, who's main agenda was to piss off as many people on the server as possible. We succeeded. Ended up getting banned from the server forums because someone hacked my signature and turned it in to midget porn. Good times were had by all.

Moved to Mayong when it opened as a SK/Shaman combo (Vritra/Tertiary), started the guild Veterans specifically for active duty and retired military. We were 3rd/4th in raiding when I turned over guild leadership. And...that's about it.
Vritra Dizok, 70 Dreadlord GM of Blood Tithe
Honnebadger Dontcare, 70 Warlord
Antivan Crow, 70 Elementalist
Decai, 70 Necrodude
Vitas, 70 Cleric
Tertiary Third, 70 Heyokah
Archammes Vash, 70 Bard
Asimov, 70 Ranger
Archimonde, 70 Rogue

Good morning everyone. We came from don't remember server name/Morrell-thulle/Errollisi-marr. they kept moving us...... The majority of our time was on Morrell-thulle though and where our best memories from the game are. Myself and my wife were guild leaders of Eyes of Darkness for we don't know how long total. Haven't seen any names so far that look familiar, but I was Codil/Solicia/Kiriaa, and my wife was Senee/Sineline/Wedora. We left a few years ago, but never found anything close to it, as we just didn't like the attitude on the Errollise-marr server. We found EQemulator and tried a few servers, this one fits and we have found nobody that hasn't been extremely helpful and nice. With the warm welcome we received we have decided to make this one our home and see where it takes us. So for all the efforts the THF staff and the community have put into the server, Thank you.

Reading these posts have really brought some good memories back. I Started in the old world just in time for Kunark release. Made a few toons but I can not remember names. When Kunark was released, I started an Iksar SK named Sasanil Scalewind. I joined a guild called Thorn Knights on Tunare. I called this my home for over 2 years, I have met some of the best people I know from EQ. No Magelo page seems to exist anymore for my Iksar but the old TK website is still around. I still miss raiding fear for my dreadscale armor...and trying to finish that ridiculous khukri sword quest. Thanks for the memories everyone. P.S old school Hole was very scary, hah.

Howdy folks,

I just thought I'd stop by and introduce myself as I just started Toendeff (hmm... wonder what class?) last night.

I'd been a long time MUD player and while I'd heard of the graphical games, it wasn't til a friend made mention of the RP server that I started playing (think it was maybe mid velious when Firiona Vie came online?). As such, Qualvin Planeswalker (gnome wizard) was born.

I played there for a while with the Ledenyetz Troupe until probably 40's.

Eventually other friends convinced me to start a char on Bertoxxolous, and walaa... Cacafonix Toendeff (woodelf bard) came into existence only to be followed (and eclipsed) by the quiet puller Channwen Diesalot (later changed to Channwen Helendevuisten).

Unfortunately when WOW came out, a lot of friends switched games and eventually dragged me along with them and so I started wandering from game to game, trying to find that same sense of community experienced on the original everquest and who knows, I might run into one of those old online friends from Seekers of Darkstone (bertoxx) or the Ledenyetz Troupe (FV)

Thanks
Toendeff the bard

hey hey hey!

I have missed this post, I hope its not too late ;)

When exactly you were leaders of Eye of Darkness?
Cause.. I WAS "leader" of EoD too! ;)

This guild was created back in 1999/2000 by Obudar, barbarian warrior, who then quit, and passed the leadership on to me. The majority of folks quit then, and I went on playing other chars, but I kept the guild registered. Around 2002 it became home to a close group of my RL friends, but we never invited anyone else. Somewhere around 2003 I and my friends joined a major raiding guild, and I passed on the leadership of EoD to my good friend Dracotake, who then invited tons of new people, but eventually passed on leadership to someone else. I quit in September 2004, and lost all contact.
