Guide: I'm level 70, now what?

04/03/2011 Edit: This guide is now considerably out of date, and does not include any content added past ~ July 2009. Due to the nature of the server and how great the devs are, a lot of content has been added since that time.

A few things that have been added since this post was made include:

Fungus Grove, a level 60-70 zone with great loot.

A completely customized LDoN system with 100% custom item rewards, as well as unique new spells for many classes.

A new secondary HUB for level 70 players known as The Hidden Vale. This is also the hub for LDoN quests and merchants.

New World Bosses that drop great, sellable loot and LDoN tokens which can be sold to other players for platinum or used yourself.

Custom Epic 1.5 is also in game, and I noticed I didn't put it in the below guide. There is a great guide for that here

A Casino that you can play in for a chance to win some of the best items in the game!

I won't be going into full detail about the things listed above, but just know that they are there and then read below if you want to read the general guide!

Jeido's Guide to The Hidden Forest

The Hidden Forest really has tons of content to be explored at all levels, but now that level 70 content is beginning to grow it can be difficult to know where to begin. This guide will hopefully help people get on the path to being able to do the harder content that the server has to offer.

Gear comes from three locations group wise once you hit 70. The three places are the level 55-70 group zones (Sebilis being my favorite), Chardok named, and Kael trash/named. Those are also listed in order of difficulty, and I would recommend getting fully geared in one (or close to it) before progressing to another.

Sebilis, Sol B, and PoValor:

Recommended Level -- 50+

Recommended Classes -- Tank, Healer, some dps.

Every class can gear up a great amount in these three zones alone. They all share a loot table, and the armor is a huge upgrade from guk. Warriors can reach 13K or 14K HP buffed, without AA, if they farm just these zones alone.

Other classes can also gear up very nicely in this zone, as it has weapons, armor, and trinkets that will be necessary in order to defeat the harder mobs that you'll be facing later on in the game.

One thing that is an essential part of Sebilis that you need to get before leaving are the augs from the named in the end of the dungeon. The augs are slot 8 and they are the only slot 8 augs in the game except for the ones from Chardok/SSRA temple. They can easily add 500HP if you get them all.

Another great thing about these zones is that if you fight deep enough (in sebilis especially), the XP is definitely worth it. I must have gotten at least 60-70 AA in Sebilis while camping the items there for my groupmates and I. It's really a great spot to XP.

Chardok:

Recommended Level -- 70

Recommended Classes -- Warrior, Healer, Slower, 2-3 DPS

Chardok is a bit more difficult than the prior zones, but it should be cake if you've gotten yourself Sebilis geared and some basic AA's. All the mobs and named are slowable, with the exception of the Queen at the end of the dungeon. The named here drop 250HP/Mana loots that can be a great upgrade from Sebilis.

There is a great camp spot right after the Ancient Guardian, and otw to the royals, that has about 6 PH's for "Battle Master ____" (Need rest of the name) in one hall alone! To make things even better, the named also drop great slot 8 augs to put on your new armor, or old sebilis armor!

The Royals really drop great loot, and if you can manage to Pacify pull the named then it makes them so much easier to handle. Be careful though, a warrior with defensive is basically required for all named in this zone at your current gear level.

Kael:

Recommended Level -- 70

Recommended Classes -- Well geared/AA'd tank, Healer, Slower, 2-3 DPS

Kael is a tricky zone, and it will give you a run for your money if you are not prepared for it. Many of the pulls will come in twos if you don't have pacify or a monk to split them, and a two pull here can easily wipe the average group. I strongly recommend spending some time in either Icewell Keep or PoFire getting AA's before entering here. A tank with defensive aa's is essential.

Trash mobs in the zone all have a chance to drop a random piece of armor that is the equivalent to Qvic armor on live. This can be a huge upgrade from Guk armor, and the gear is all slot 8 so it gives you more spots to put your Seb/Chardok augs!

Once you gear up in the armor from trash and group named, you should be ready to take on the other named such as Idol, Vindi, Tormax, Statue, and Avatar of War with a small raid force. Some of these named you may not need more than one warrior for if he is geared enough, but it is recommended to have a full tank defensive rotation for all of them. If you cannot do so, I hope you have enough healers because they are in for a rough fight! The good thing about the named is that they are all slowable, with the exception of AoW :).

Raid time! Ssra Temple:

Recommended level -- 70

Recommended classses -- 3 Warriors, 2-3 Clerics, 1-2 Shamans or Druids, lots of DPS

Ssra temple is a really challenging raid zone with fantastic rewards. If your guild was able to kill Kael named, SSRA is definitely the next step for you. I will not give spoilers for the encounters here, but *almost* all named are unslowable and hit like trucks so be ready for a wild ride!

I hope this helps! I will try to add to it as best I can. Good luck on your group progression!

Good job on writing this up, sticky for sure!

Let me add 1 more zone which i just finished:

Icewell Keep

This zons is for lev60+ or the AA Grinder. Mobs are about Sebilis bottom level, so lev59 is the lowest you will find. At the bottom (where Dain used to be fought) are mobs which do not summon - kiters rejoice.

There are random drops throughout the zone which are very valuable (FD ring anyone?), some named Exp Mobs which all share the same Named Loot table and of course we have Mr. Truck aka Dain Frostreaver who drops the real goodies (and rangers  )

Tyler, are the random drops in icewell random on all mobs? I have a 63 war and 62 shm I 2 box with a monk bot in the group and I can barely take down the guards at the zoneline, or the frosticubes, etc down below in the tunnels that lead to the castle.

Every single mob I've killed has not dropped a single item or plat.

More or less, yes. Drop chance is pretty slim, tho. Try the Allakhazam Clone to verify who drops what. Found at the Frontpage.

Do the guards still hit hard in Icewell? I tried doing it with my 70 wizzy and a 70 pally bot and they tore him up before I could finish the mob. No way I could do two at a time.

Guards hit for up to 455 and they are immune to slow and they summon.

Tyler, thanks for the advice to check the Alla Clone. Looks like the zone trash has a 1% chance to drop something. Hope I get lucky because these mobs are TOUGH for such a low drop rate. Also, is the Alla Clone page correct for the FD earring? Does it really only have 3 charges of FD?

The Allak Clone pulls the data from the Live database. 3 charges is intentional. Still very powerful. It's not meant to give every class FD like a click invis earring etc.

Icewell is really meant as an exp zone. If you are lev70 with a couple of AAs you should be able to go through this easy. Also, in the well, as i posted above, the mobs don't summon and can be kited.

If you want to get a nice chunk of AAs done at 70, get a few friends and a wizard or two and AoE grind in PoValor at the golems.

Icewell Trash now drop Tradeskill items that can be used to combine the Kael Armor (beside BP and Legs, need to go kill the Nameds to get these).
