Defnitly DPS with 2 tanks would say start 2nd group add 1 cleric maybe a Ench so you got essential buffs with you and rest DPS.

Depends how many you're able to, or wanting to box really, do you have an idea of numbers? If you're only going to do 1 group, I'd say 2 tanks is unnecessary bar maybe 2 bosses in T7 until you are sufficiently geared to single tank those events.

2 groups, then 2 tanks is great :) You definitely need a Cleric in there as a Shammy's heals won't cover you with large amounts of damage coming in. You'll also want a Bard for extra AC and spell damage providing you will use spell casters.

DPS wise, it's up to you and what you prefer to box IMO. I use a combination of mages and melee and recently a wizard. Certain classes like wizzies rely on debuffs and bard songs to get optimum dps, others are just decent dps with 1 or 2 donor items. I think the melee order atm is Rogue > Zerk > Monk > BST.
Pet classes with T8 pets are great through T7 particularly with donor weapon or even donor pet but the DPS is lacking compared to melee in t8 and t9.

If you're looking to stick with just 1 group, I'd throw a cleric and 2 pet classes in there. Mage/Nec, Mage/Bst, etc. As stated, shaman is an ok healer with certain spells but they really can't be trusted as main healer. Since you've already got him, plus the donor, he can add some decent buffs to your DPS while patch healing, letting your cleric take on that main heal role. Pal/SK are pretty horrible DPS, so for DPS I'd stick with pet classes for now. At least until you get into T8, then if you want to reroll the DPS, go ahead. The other DPS classes really won't compare until T7+, unless you want to slap a few donors on your DPS classes as well, at which point you can pretty much play what you want.

So you have the following:

SK - T5
Pal - t3
Shaman - t3

I would add the following:

Mage
Necro
Cleric
Bard
(yes this means rotating one of your tanks to tank for your group)

You can level them up, watching for Fennin to scream "ZOMG I died!!!" then ask if it is possible to get COH for flags, or you can just buy the Token of Xegony for each, then farm all your guys the avatar pieces to get Xegony Isle Access.

If you go the Token of Xegony Route, this means you still have to kill Xegony, Cazic and Phara dar to gain access to Tier 7 DSK1. If you go the backflag route, you will need to kill Emp Ssra (and do the key quest), Vulak, Sleeper (and the pre-key fun to get to that), Fennin Ro (Fire is an open zone), Xegony, Cazic, Phara Dar.

The route I usually take:

Level new toons to 70
Buy the pet classes their pets.
Turn AA's to 100 percent
--> (nightly kill) Farm Token's of Xegony for my new guys
Clear out Stillmoon and VP a few nights in a row to get them some starter gear
Start upgrading their charms immediately.
Do their 1.5's
Do VP Key (and watch for people in /ooc asking if anyone needs 2.0 parts from whatever they just killed)
Go to Shadowhaven, get quest for gem collection and slaughter
Complete the gem collection, then get Healing Automaton quest
Complete automoton (usually this is about 30 to 50 aa's worth of grinding) Shadowhaven also has some decent upgrades while grinding.
--> (this is on going) Go to Walls of Slaughter, start farming whatever pet you want (another 30 to 100 aa's) - Can also get upgrades here. No COH, so bring the crew.
Farm VP (1 clear = 6 tier 6 visible armor pieces plus the drops from dragons(minus gloves and arms - Give pet classes the legs first for the minion focus)
Farm The Ascent (from STillmoon). Fast respawn of named in there, and good t6 level drops.

I currently have 12 to 14 toons that I rotate playing. When I do VP, I kill everything with a single group leaving the rest at zone in to coh/loot/buff

My Normal group makeup is:
Warrior
Cleric
Mage
Necro
Necro
Bard

Once you are at about 300 aa's, and tier 6 geared, you can start doing the 2 Instances at the back of the Vale (Kill the Enomuth or whatever its called) for some really really good augs and a really good challenge... (this is the point where I'm at... I just need to find more time to do this some more.

Hit me up if you need any help with anything that isnt guild instanced :)

Another option you have is joining a guild that will help backflag your current toons. God knows I loathe boxing 90 percent of the time, but until my son quits playing I'm stuck in a guild with him showing him the ropes :)
