You are talking about changing slightly quests by adding a buyable component like in epic 2.0 ?

I think that's what he meant :) Adding more plat sinks to lower/mid tier quests is not that hot of an idea though. Most people in those tiers are already cash strapped, buying bazaar gear/spells, etc. It's taking plat from those who have finished all those things and are hovering around t7-t9 already that is being/should be addressed :D

Adventure tokens, good point Niixnec.

Also, you'll see the trend of trading donors for in game loot die down since the holiday events are over. It only kicks up when there's a surge of tradable loot. Give it a month. The ones that are willing to trade real money for in game items aren't going to turn around and trade those items for donor gear, they keep them. So the cycle is finite.

Wow had an event that preceded a new expansion where part of it was a "war effort" http://www.wowwiki.com/Gates_of_Ahn'Qiraj where you had a server wide effort to fund the opening of the new expansion.

The devs on this server can easily run database queries to find out how much plat there is and whos got it all. They could setup new content that needed to be directly funded (with plat only) by the entire server population. The cost of the war effort could easily be priced by the results of the money sql queries.

The largest Plat sink in live is/was trade skills. If you want to dump massive amounts of plat out of the server, then the Trade skills need to be viable for use making clickies, augs, and the like.

Yes it would be nice to see some high end trade skill items like augments that can be used even for end game content.

One of the cool aspects of live was also the "heroic" mobs. Perhaps guilds can have the ability to make T2-4 "heroic" with a plat upkeep and drop nice upgrades. Make the mobs X% "harder" and change their loot tables based on how much plat you give.

Try something, if it doesn't work... remove it and try something else. No reason to get upset over change. Maybe try several things and see what works. No reason to think of this with such permanency in mind.

As long as the TS stuff would actually be droppable tho... for those who hate Tradeskilling with a passion. ;)

set a NPC up you can pay for custom Titles. Either set choices or with few key words you can choose from.

I know there is already some tiles you can get from the AA vendor but make this from plat. this has no effect on game play but I think some people would drop loads of cash for a custom and unique title/surname
