I've found, personally, that the greatest sustained dps boost was had by the mage 1.0 vs bard and necro donors. I haven't tested the mage 2.0.

As an aside, I would avoid the necro 2.0 for a group scenario. It is the only dps donor weapon that deals direct damage, and imo it isn't very strong at that task unless you have several adds alive and uncontrolled for 1+ minutes. I just have it because it looks pretty

I assume you were summing the caster and pet dps?

Yes I'm comparing cumulative dmg from affected characters.

When it comes to t8 rk iii pets, the mage pet is significantly stronger than the necro one. To that end, your best bang for your buck is to buff the stronger pet.

As for mage 1.0 vs 2.0, I can only speculate that the 2.0 looks superior if you have an extended enhancement focus. I just don't like the 5 sec cast time, so I picked the 1.0. I'll admit, it's a decision that was more emotional than logical... But screw it, I'm sticking to it

2.0 is more dmg, but in a shorter burst due to the recast, the 1.0 you can keep perma up (and they stack so I have both on my mage)
