Wondering if any of you software wizards out there have looked at the coding for UF client and if it would be possible to alter it so it would allocate user specified memory amounts? Or does this get into knotty proprietary software protection mine fields?

Try by enable more 2Gb memory adresse space by changing directy in the eqgame.exe.
Use for exemple NT Core "CFF Explorer" http://www.ntcore.com/exsuite.php
File header > Characteristics > App can handle > 2gb address space

Or NtCore "4GB Patch" http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php

I tried NtCore "4GB Patch" http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php. It indicates success when applied to eqgame.exe.
However according to the performance tab my windows 10 task manager, with 9 instances of EQ running I'm only using about 9GB of memory so it doesn't seem to have increased memory use.

This seems to have shaved off 2 ms or more but more importantly largely cured an old problem that bugs the heck out of me: On some fights I get a "stutter" on the life bar of a mob, such as the twins Talriem in VT. The life bar flicks back and forth between two different values like 20% and 50%... I have guessed this is due to disparities in lag between two or more characters who are engaged. But applying this fix to the adapters made a big difference so I'm guessing different "packaging and handling" of internet content between two characters was responsible for the "stutter".

Yes, it help, by cons, does not improve raid desync.
In general you start to have some problem with > 24 toons in lots of instance. It is very annoying.
