Coming back after a few years...

Hi all,

I got the itch to play some and looking to play some on my favorite server :)

Before I got up to about 2 groups, somewhere between Tier 1 and Tier 2. But looking to trim it down to 1 group.

I know there are 1000 different combinations, but looking for some ideas on what the best all around group I can run with.

My first thought is: War/Clr/Brd/Mag/Mag/Bst
But all that plate makes me nervous :)

I have basically all the other classes in some form or another. I have to bring up all these chars to find out where I left off with them, I remember being in Stillmoon for armor, not sure everyone got what they need yet. Also I think I have high level pets on Mages at least, not sure about Beast.

Anyway, looking forward to coming back, but dont want to load up 12 chars anymore, just 6, have some fun and take it slow if I have to...

Ideas?

Wow, coming back is really hard!

Is there a spreadsheet available so I can try and figure out who has what?

So, I have a mix of T1/T2 gear with a few T8 items somehow?? Anyway, I assume I need to get them all to full T2 armor?

I will have to see where their epics are as well, gonna take some time :)

If anyone has ideas how to make this easier??

Thats pretty legit right there:)

I am thinking I can pump out the 'tier level' screen and somehow copy paste that into something to get me started.

But there is so much more than just the armor, I remember tracking all this in a notebook, which I still have, but I didnt document it very well, so most of the circles dont have labels, I guess I just "knew" back then what I needed.

Anyway, part of the fun I suppose :)

Is doing these adventures for crystals overall worth it, if I just hammer those with my ragtag group would I get them build up enough, or should I stick with the typical progression ?

If you have the patience and skill to make a spreadsheet, that's great. I am sure that many players have made them in the past but I don't know anyone who has one now. For me, I just used notepad and manually typed what my main toons had. And then another note for what armor they needed. And another for spells needed. And yet another for suggested progression. My desktop was plastered with notes. There are times when I felt like I needed a secretary...

I got no real advice on the best six toons to group. There are too many variables involved. For example, you gonna donor any? All? Some? Cause that will change what might be "best".

I don't know which crystals you are talking about. And, generally speaking, the progression balance of the Tiers pretty much forces you to go step by step (unless you donor). There is a 0 to T6 progression guide that you might find interesting unless you think it's a spoiler. Keep in mind that it was creating in 2014.

Thanks for reply

I just have so much stuff.

I had written scripts to check my gear for quests, but guess it doesn't work anymore

Just want to play some but starting to see why I stopped lol.

It's like a full time job. Maybe the LDON system (I think those are the crystals I'm talking about) would be a better fit. Are there any drops in there for the 'other's slots?

Guess I could try epics as well

Anyway that's for the reply : )

It's been quite a while since I did LDONs. I don't recall the drops. The big thing about LDONs is the points you get for completions. The LDON vendors have some very nice stuff. You can see what they offer by using the wiki. Look in the column on the left, scroll down to the Custom Extras section, then choose Custom Vendors.

The secret to not getting administrative burnout is to not try to do too many toons at once. No more than a group at a time. And get rid of stuff as soon as it becomes obsolete. There are very few low level items that should be saved, and none that you can't just go back and get again. It's very rare to need different sets of armor for different quests. You don't have to be perfect in your gameplay, especially if it leads you to burnout quicker.

EMU progressed to the ROF2 version about two years ago. Before that, you needed to equip a clickie before using it. This lead to third party programs like MQ2 having an option to do an almost instant swap out of an armor piece for the purposes of using clickies from inventory. Swap-click-swapback. But ROF2 now allows clicking from your backpacks. Simply drag the armor piece to a hot button. And yes, that means your days of having just one or two button bars are gone. Now you need five...or more. 8-)

On one group setup i would say most combinations up to Tier 6/7 maybe 8 should be for the most part fine.
From there on maybe before some you have some encounters that are definitely are bad news for pets, and maybe 2 or 3 encounters are preferable done with Range Classes.

I would definitely use a tank , pick the one you prefer ( if you ask for advice which to choose the person that will give you the advice will have a class they prefer so just pick the one "you" want).

Healer - def use Cleric

DPS (Melee)- Monk,Rog currently top due to additional AA (unlocked by Tier)
Zerker also decent

Pet classes - great at lower tiers due to able to get T8 pet for em just see if someone has a spare copy.

CC classes - Enchanter Bard think there like a few encounters that will require Mez from T8 on

DPS (Range) - Wiz got like Monk Rog additional AA so can be decent too again.
Ranger can do some ok dps with Bow.

So pick your poison
1 Tank + Cleric + 4 dps

"My" prefered setup would be probably

Pal + Cler + 2 Mnk + 2 Rog (which wouldn't be for most ideal but using Donor arms in my case to have most buffs)
Team Nexor

Fexor - Fexxor - Nexxor - Nexia - Nexxia - Nexis - Nexxis - Gnex
