T8 Access quest items

Vaion gets a kick out of the fact that i want to fly out to him IRl and kick him in the nuts for this.

but that being said i agree with a quest that is hard. T8 IS for the end game only, Vaions content has proven that for every 3 guilds that have tried ds only 1 seems to get anywhere consistently. His zones are designed to push everyone to their limits. And yes - they are NOT box friendly.

As far as access goes, im going to agree with Gunnar - focus on DS, you wont accomplish much if you cant kill xeru. Im not just saying that so we dont have competiton, to be honest i relish some LEGITIMATE competition. But im saying it to save frustration. The final fight for the Access quest makes Xeru look like trash in Kael. And all the testing thats been done in there has shown me that the trash in T8 is going to be more like the bosses in DS. Its not easy, wont ever be easy. Now i also think you shouldnt be able to access the zone until you have cleared DS, but that IS the elitist in me coming out. (and a topic of heated debate with vaion, so you guys who havent killed xeru should be thanking vaion for not letting us convince him of Xeru kill requirement).

At this point work on the quest, yeah its a bitch, and the spawn times suck, but its doable, took me 3 hours to get all i needed for my crew + 2/3 of what raydar needed for his crew. Just takes some grinding, enjoy it when you get there tho, cause it all just makes the reward 100000000 times better 8).

The intention was to be difficult. Not a zone that you can walk up and hail/click and automatically zone in.

fair enough. i don't play on a server where you hail to be level 70, or summon whatever gear you want for a reason. i don't care much for an easy win, but i care even less for tradeskilling. this quest has made me dread logging in. i'm sorry if you think that's offensive.

Bodom, you don't have to TS. Just help someone who is willing to do it. And help kill to get their pieces. Then they can let you loot a drop. =)

is there some secret i don't know about? i kill fort 2 faster than it pops, for about 6 hours total so far. i have 2/3 of the fire pieces on one character.

Its the most outrageous zone you will ever see, from gaining entry to completing. It will cause you headaches. It will make you cry. It will also fill your loot pockets with insane loot. But most of all it will make you all warm and fuzzy if you manage to defeat it.

I must say its really difficult, i managed to farm the final piece last night after 4 days. and then i went to combine it in forge and failed , i know its my mistake i tired to gamble with low TS skills.

This doesn't seem to be the norm.
Not that I'm complaining but stating it will only upset people.

This reminds me of the when guilds were trying to key 18+ people for Emp room in SSRA way back when this server was new. Drop rates for those sucked, the camps sucked, and 1 key per person sucked. Many people cried for a drop rate boost, but devs didn't budge. It ended up being the right choice imo.. Lillu probably remembers, not sure who else would (any original evo still around? =p) The point is, it took a few weeks to get everyone flagged, but now it's not even thought about.

The same could be said for ST key dragons, although they were a different type of grind. It took weeks to get a whole guild (2-3+ groups) flagged for ST, and a few more people would remember this.

Today nobody gives either of these "keys" a second thought, they just buy a sleepers/ToV token.

Moral of the story: grind through it, get your keys, never worry about it again. If you don't want to grind through it, wait for other guilds to beat it and either help you or sell you some tokens!

Yes, TSing can be a pita. But two of the four needed require no farming at all. The other two require farming in easy zones and the drop rates are very good. Its isn't as daunting as it appears. Look through the Triv lists on EQTraders and find recipes that are easy. Or ask a guildy. =)
